Rough start, but works well for me
Everyone is aware of the rough start MobileMe had. I however, only experienced a couple days of inaccessibility. Since then it has worked flawlessly for me. I was an original .mac subscriber and while certain features (i.e. icards which was lame) have disappeared, some most certainly work better. The iDisk was non functional for me with .mac and now finally works! I really enjoy the online access to my calender now too. All in all, I'm not disappointed. Apple has also compensated users with an initial 30 day extension, and now just announced another 60 day extension. I'm satisfied.

MobileMe - Windows version
It wasn't ready for prime time -- but now, after a couple of weeks, it sort of works. I still have faith this will be a great product, real soon now.

Works Great for Me
Despite all the terrible press, Mobile Me works great for me. Having said that, I primarily use Mobile Me for the IDisk and don't have a need for the other uses, which have been more problematic for others. I have been using Mobile Me for about one month. At first, the IDisk was excruciating slow. It works faster now. Also, I now store the IDisk on my laptop hard drive and it syncs with the online IDisk automatically, which speeds up the IDisk dramatically and also allows me to access the files from any other computer. The reason i only give Mobile Me 4 stars is that my review is based on a limited use of the service.

Supports Outlook? Not really...
I was excited to get MobileMe to sync my work email, contacts and calendar with my MacBook and iPhone. Unfortunately, like most folks who run OutLook at work, it's based on an Exchange server. MobileMe doesn't seem like an Outlook based on Exchange. Reading blogs on the web, it sounds like that was by design. I certainly did not get what I thought I was buying and I still don't see this pointed out by Apple in their sales info on requirements for supporting Outlook 2003 and 2007...

Not (yet) Ready For Primetime
I'm a longtime Mac fan and have used Apple's net services since the original iTools. My dotMac account was automatically transferred over to MobileMe on launch day. The verdict? MobileMe is a MobileMess. :( The good news is Apple will continue to work on this, and they will eventually get it right. If you're a current member, hang in there. If you're thinking of buying the service, give it some time, and check out Apple's MobileMe discussion forums to see how things have improved before you sign up.

What's wrong? On launch day, almost everything. But in the last two weeks most of the general bugs have been worked out, leaving intermittent but nearly daily email problems (SSL failures). Right now, the big problem is Apple's total failure to provide adequate tech support for people experiencing problems. Steve Jobs has promised the service will be up to snuff by the end of the year. I sure hope it doesn't take them long! But it will be fixed, and when it's running smoothly it's an extremely useful service.
