I think that this typing program is a good program because my students were able to follow the directions without continuously asking me. They also were really motivated to try. Many of them spend their personal time learning how to type.

Fair
This is probably a good product for younger children, but my 11-year old son is not terribly interested in it. I do wish the games were a little more geared towards older kids. It does work very well, however.

amazing results!
We have been using this item for our three children for our school at home and have been amazed at the results! All of our kids have learned how to type in a very short period of time - a week! Because the work is "fun," the kids want to do it and enjoy the success of being able to type. It still needs some oversite from a parent, but it is very minimal and simple. I would recommend this product highly. p.s. we have also tried Mavis Beacon and don't like this program very much in comparison to Typing Instructor.

Great for kids...
Great Product. I bought it for my friend's kids and they love it so far. I installed it for them the other day, and one of the youngest was on there doing the first lesson, which took some time since he types about 4wpm (little hands) but the program kept his attention. Which I was impressed with since typing can get old fast for anyone.
I can't say anyting about long term, but there seems to be a good appeal to children, they really got a kick out of it.
My view is, even if they hardly use it, I got it for a great price on Amazon and if it helps them type 2 wpm faster now till they graduate from highschool that is a lot of time saved in the long run. Worth it, if you ask me.

nice software
Kids went wild over it initially (8 y.o. and 5 y.o.) but got bored and tossed it to the side after about a week. My son though tries to type with his hands on the home keys now at least. Could be they will pick up using it again some time in the future. I couldn't figure out how to change users after one was already selected, so when changing I was forced to exit the program and reload.
