Date: 2008-11-09 Satisfied Have not had much experience with it yet. But I am satisfied so far.
Date: 2008-11-07 Ooops! What a mistake. Given reviews of earlier products from Kaspersky and a good rating from Consumers Reports, I decided to switch to this product. I'm still trying to figure out what to do. The "manual" has absolutely no useful information in it. I haven't tried customer service yet, but hope to have time to do so soon. Unfortunately, the only way I can access my normal websites (eg., NY Times, Wordpress) is by shutting the program off. That doesn't provide very good security. From what I've seen so far, it's a useless program. Just to save time, I'll probably uninstall and go to another program. I don't have days and days to waste trying to figure out how to make it work. I certainly can't recommend the program.
Date: 2008-11-05 Good Software but... On the positive side, I think that technically, this product is probably one of the best available, it does not slow down or interfere with my computers speed and it seems to block a lot of hacker attacks. You can also load it on three computers without any additional costs. On the negative side, the user interfaces leave a little bit to be desired. For example, right after installing it, I did a scan and it found 12 files that it labeled as dangerous or words to that effect, but there was no option to delete or quarantine the files, so I called the 800 number and after a twenty minute wait, the person I spoke to said that no action was required. A little annoying. However, all in all, I think it is better than Norton, but I'm not sure it's worth the five stars that most people have given it...p.s. prior to installing be sure to uninstall any other anti-virus programs and shut off windows firewall, not doing so will cause problems...
Date: 2008-10-31 never a problem I could go into great detail, but I will make this simple. My second year using this after having Norton and Mcafee, this works. It is simpler and less intrusive
Date: 2008-10-30 Does the job, but not too user friendly Having gotten fed up with the slowness of booting up my computer with Norton Antivirus, I tried ESET and Kaspersky both of which were much faster in booting up and accessing the Internet. However,of the three, Kaspersky was the most user-unfriendly to install and to use. It has a great many variables for the user to set (assuming the user knows what they do), and I have not been able to figure out why it flags a number of things during a scan, then doesn't do anything with them and does not ask me what I want done with them. I understand Norton has now come out with a faster version (2009) which may warrant a try next time. I did find the old version user-friendly. ESET also does the job unobtrusively and is easy to use.
