Not a resource hog
We have used Norton and CA products. Both were huge resource hogs. Our computers run much faster with Kaspersky AV than Norton or CA. We are very happy.

Free Support if you can find them.
From the moment this software downloaded onto my computer I've had nothing but problems. No phone # available on package, left message with their online service-which they promised via email to respond to within 48 hours, I am still waiting. I uninstalled it after 8 days and loaded McAfee, most problems resolved. Kaspersky is so arrogant they think they don't need to REALLY provide support because their product is perfect. I have a new rule, no support phone # on the box, no purchase.....and I may even call the number, before purchasing....to see if they really answer. This Anti-virus may work for some but you better not need help from Kaspersky.

2nd time buying this product
I purchased the 2008 version for my other PC and wanted this for my new laptop. This is a great product. I had other anti-virus software (Norton - can't stand it, takes over my system; McAfee - don't use it except at work) but someone turned me onto this product and it's been great. Isn't very intrusive, at least from what I can tell, and doesn't lock my PC or laptop up like Norton always did.

Just "OK"
I've tried pretty much every major retail (and some not retail) versions of anti-virus software. Kaspersky AV is right in the middle of the pack. There were several installation issues and some fairly disappointing software compatibility issues. I wanted to run a different firewall and K-AV is incompatibile with it. The software was installed on a completely fresh windows install and there were installation/compatibility issues. Technical support was able to solve them fairly quickly through some patches and software removal tools. I have some concerns that a novice computer user would not be able to get to the point of a working installation. I had to know a few pretty technical issues to be able to work with the tech support folks.

If I am in the market again for A-V software, I'll shop around. Don't believe everything you read on CNET or PCMAG etc. I had better experience with Norton (despite its impact on system performance). Bit Defender is another option that I'd rate at about equal if not slightly better than KAV.

If you don't work for Kaspersky, don't buy this!
I'm sure this product is fine IF it actually works! Upon inserting the CD, I received an error message saying that some EXE file was missing. That was just the start of the problems! I tried multiple times to get on-line help from their live chat and never made it past #5 in the queue. Even when I got in the queue at the start of business, I never got anyone to come on-line with me by the end of business! Several emails sent to their "help desk" for different problems resulted in identical responses, which didn't fix them. The technical support option on their phone support only directed me back to their on-line live chat and then went to a busy signal. Perhaps the product itself is good if the software isn't faulty, however the customer service and technical support IS ABSOLUTELY ABOMINABLE!!!
