Wordperfect Office X4 Standard Upgrade Review
User Submitted Wordperfect Office X4 Standard Upgrade Reviews
Date: 2009-01-07 Word Perfection Once again Corel has improved an already excellent product, giving it more capability to import other, less sophisticated word processor's output AND PDF editing capabilities, too. Whenever I attempt to use Microsoft's product, I catch myself repeatedly asking where is this facility or that facility which I have come to rely on in WordPerfect. As a long-time WordPerfect user, I cannot understand why anyone would ever want another word processor.
Date: 2008-12-16 An old time Word Perfect User's thoughts I've used this product ever since the "blue screen" in the 1980's. When I started a new job, I had to learn MSWord. It was much less intuitive, what you were looking for never seemed to be under the appropriate menu, and I hated it. However, you gotta go with the guy who is paying you.
I publish a low volume specialty publication of about 300 pages and do an annual update edition. Usually several hundred changes each year. It's almost fun with WordPerfect.
It's just too bad that they took too long to come out with a Windows based version, and lost critical market share. Remember the "old days" when PC Magazine was about an inch thick, and the review of about 100 different word processors had multiple foldouts? Ah, the good old days when competition really existed.
Date: 2008-12-12 The Best Word Processor X4 is an excellent word processor. It is very stable and includes most every feature that one would need. The PerfectExpert is very helpful and can easily be followed. The improved interfaces with PDF files and Word are excellent. I have never needed another word processor since learning WP in 1987. Learn on WP and stay with it.
Note: with Boot Camp that comes with Macintosh models, WP is now compatible with Apple Computers. In Windows mode, the iMac runs blazingly fast....flawless. Good Luck!
Date: 2008-09-20 WP OFFICE X4 it is! I've not had time to "explore" too much, but I'm finding that it's all I've wanted and more. They've kept the same interface, but have strengthened WPs capabilities.
Sometimes when I open a .PDF file, the formatting is a little messed up, that's a small detail, though, to me.
Date: 2008-09-15 Good pdf integration As a long-time WordPerfect user, I am especially pleased with the pdf integration. It works smoothly and from my experience flawlessly. WordPerfect gives the user the control over the formatting I want and allows one to make changes without unexpected consequences.
