Grisoft AVG Internet Security 3-User 2-Year Family Edition Review
User Submitted Grisoft AVG Internet Security 3-User 2-Year Family Edition Reviews
Date: 2008-12-29 Sometimes IE can't connect to web site I use AVG IS on 2 PCs, both have the same problem, SOMETIMES a newly opened IE window can't connect to web site(even localhost) while ping and other web applications working fine. I did a lot of seach on internet, try to find out the problem and did some changes on my PC, finally found out it's because of AVG. After uninstall AVG, they are back to normal. So I'm only using AVG Anti-Virus part now. And my PC got much faster.
Date: 2008-09-01 Works but..... Product appears to work well in terms of protecting your PC. But there appears to be some not so user friendly aspects: * Package says 3 - user but I have been unable to load it on a second PC * As for any support, you need a code to access the support and the code I entered does not work, making it impossible to get support.
Date: 2008-06-19 AVG Stuff No doubt AVG's Internet Security Program is by far the best - exceeds Norton, far exceeds McAfee and the rest - Amazon's 3 pack 2 - year edition price is the best value around!
Date: 2008-06-19 Beware of this company!! To start, I have not purchased their software but have been using their free downloadable version on an old work computer. And there is a good reason I never upgraded and bought their subscription and would not recommend this company. This invasive software not only bogged down my computer to an extent I have never experienced before (and I have used several of the other big name AV software products over the years) but I cannot get rid of it! I have tried using the standard Windows removal of applications process as well as trying to delete the program directly, and it always generates some kind of error message stating that the files cannot be accessed. I have copied the errors and tried contacting the company (could not find a phone # on their website after an exhaustive search) by email from their website with no response or help. I would encourage anyone thinking of investing in this product to check out their website and see if you can contact anyone to get an idea of what kind of customer support you can expect. In my experience, there is absolutely none, and I would encourage you to look elsewhere for your AV needs.
Date: 2008-05-07 AVG good, but so far serious lack of tech support I purchased AVG Internet Security after trying the free version and testing another anti-virus program. I find AVG easy to set up and use, and generally I like the interface. The reason for my not-so-glowing review is twofold:
1) I have the program set up so it scans web pages for 'bad stuff.' The problem is that on a Google search page, it has to scan all the linked pages the search found and this take a bit of time.
2) More serious is the fact that I've used their tech support online form almost a dozen times in the last three weeks to get some simple questions answered (including how to deal with the issue above), and they have never contacted me. More frustrating is the fact that the web site has no phone or email contacts that you can easily find. I finally sent a nasty email to someone there, but if this serious lack of support continues, I'll look for another anti-virus program when its time to renew.
