Not ready for prime time
Football Mogul 2008 is not ready for prime time. Its premise is that the human player is the general manager of an NFL team. It has a text based play-by-play and allows the player to select from about two dozen offensive and two dozen defensive plays to control individual games. But the main objective is to control the makeup of the team over decades. The best part, and most entertaining, is conducting the draft. There is a minor and necessary ability to control the financial part of the business. Note that there are problems! There are logic problems such a computer opponent who will not honor a trade that it initiates, but will agree if the trade is adjusted, only to reject it completely as you try to consummate the trade. There will be AI decisions that you may disagree with but these may just be features. There are some graphic glitches. The program will crash on occasion and I've had one where I was able to exit the crash only to find that the program persisted out of Windows view (you can see it on the System Configuration Utility) and occasionally dropped into a infinite loop eating up all CPU and locking the machine (Multitasking will let you escape eventually.) However, for $13 + shipping, if you're willing to make some exceptions for these glitches, the game can be entertaining until the next glitch.
