Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition Review

Date: 2010-02-20 A disapointment. Honestly, I thought this was going to be a great game. The hype for it was quite big. Lets just say that it gets really annoying after about an hour of playing. I have just started playing so I feel like I am getting my money's worth and that is really sad because I am bored the whole time!
Pros: * Good graphics. It is all really well done and realistic. * Interesting story line, that is fairly unique. * The ability to climb up buildings like a monkey is pretty cool.
Cons: * You have to click a lot of buttons just to exit the game. * When there are cut scenes you and walk around, but you get really bored waiting for people to stop talking. They dont really say much of interest or give you much information. The waiting is like a break time where you could go get some snacks while you wait. * The game is really repetitive. You do the same thing over and over. I wonder that anyone tested this game! It wasnt so interesting the first time I saved a citizen why must I do it again and again? And even climbing a tower can get really boring after doing 10 times. * I also have had some problems with the game crashing. I fact that is really annoying because there isnt a quick save buttons you can save your progress. You then have to do what you just did over again. Also after the game crashed (no it isnt my computer) it loaded up in the bearu where I hadnt ever been before. Strange. * The controls....who thought it was a good idea to have to push 3 buttons to do some simple motion. UG.
But just as a recap. My least favorite part of this game...the thing that just really makes me dislike it is the fact that it isnt that much fun. I HATE sitting around while people talk. I mean the entire game is scripted you cant change anything about the game it just goes on and on. Its like watching a movie most of the time. If I wanted to do that I would! Who wants to sit around waiting for people to say what they have to only to get back to the game and do the same thing you just did again. OH man....Doesnt keep my interest.
If you like games with fairly minimal action for an assassin game and a game that has more dialouge and movie elements than other games then you might like this game. If you like punching tons of keys ...strange combos I might add... to simply jump or climb then this is the game for you.

Date: 2010-01-28 tips before buying this game this is a great game i bought it but it doesnt work for my computer so i gave it to my friend so that we could play at his house. its a good game but i posted this review as a warning that you should realy check the pc requirements and it requires a dual core processor that only comes in computers bought realy recently also if it works slow or lags u may want to go online and download DX 10 support so that it will work correctly.
Date: 2010-01-24 Glitchy, but a good story. I recently purchased This game after hearing some good things from gamespot (NEVER listen to their biased opinions) and overall wasn't really very happy with the purchase. Amazon performed flawlessly in getting the order to me FAST. Now on to the game itself: Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. An amazing story that almost seems to be real, amazing graphics on a machine that can handle it, and an interesting free- running- parkor- real time combat mechanic that could have been a industry changing idea. Too bad though- that it seems as if the game stopped there... The idea. Nothing really feels that you are pushing the limits of the main antagonist. The mechanis could have been amazing, but this tittle is so ridden with bugs and glitches i finally got tired and just gave up playing. The voice acting was hit and miss as far as talent and always clipped and distorted on my machine.
Date: 2010-01-15 Not the review you were looking for There might a pretty good game hidden under a whole mountain of CRAP here. A historic medieval killing machine raising H E double hockey sticks in the holy land. Sounds great right? It would be without the fact that it's wrapped in this stupid "you're in the present remembering an ancestor doing all this stuff" sci-fi crapola joke of a premise. I could forget it if didn't rub your nose in it every two seconds. I don't want computerized hi-tech sci-fi imagery invading what should have been a great medieval fantasy/adventure. I think they were trying to be clever and provide "immersion" but it's just stupid. To load in, you get to relive that horribly endless tutorial/cutscene that started the game and to quit you can't right away. You have to "come back to the present", exit that stupid case you're supposedly in, pause the game, quit again, reload your profile, pause the game, then quit to windows, finally. Oh yea, it's an awkward console port to boot and the controls blow. Not worth the bargain bin price. Avoid this like the plague.
