Xbox 360 HDMI AV Cable Review (continued)
More User Submitted Xbox 360 HDMI AV Cable Reviews
Date: 2008-11-08 Expensive cable This is simply a single HDMI cable, and a plug like the component octopus cable for the digital sound out only. What you don't see in this picture is the other side of the plug. The other side is just the sound options. There is NOT a hdmi plug there. You plug the HDMI into the xbox itself.
What you probably want is just this plug, and not the cable, since you probably already purchased a much cheaper HDMI cable and found you can't use it along with the octopus cable to get digital sound.
I'd gladly pay 15-20$ for such an option. Don't make me buy an overpriced HDMI cable with it.
Date: 2008-10-26 Don't waste the money. This is a rip off. Take A/V cord and a butter knife or flat head screw driver and take that thick plastic piece off and use it that way. That's what i did. You can purchase a s-video cable from here or eBay and for a few dollars and use it instead. Make sure it has the optical out on it. Google it and you can find detail instructions w/pictures.
Date: 2008-10-21 Useless Why would you buy this? just use the audio plugs on the original A/V cables that came with your system and buy a $10-$20 hdmi cable right here on Amazon. Thats what i did and the picture is great. your gettin jacked out of $40 with this. this adapter shoulndnt cost more than $25.
Date: 2008-10-18 It's ok... It's better than what you get with 360 but really couldn't tell that much difference between this cable and the VGA cable I bought so 4 stars....This is on a 32 inch LCD Sharp HDtv. If your not gaming in HD then you are not getting the next gen experience.
Date: 2008-09-05 A nice adapter This adapter is an odd item. You can use pretty much any hdmi cable with the 360, and this one is nothing special, though it is relatively inexpensive as they go. No, the benefit here is that you cannot use the standard output adapter and use an hdmi cable. If you want to use analog outputs, or digital optical outputs that are on the standard output cable, AND use HDMI, then you need this. I run some z5500 speakers, and they only have the input for dig optical, dig coax, and 5.1 direct. Works great, highly recommended. However, microsoft should just put the digital optical output on the xbox, not the cord.
