Logitech G9 Laser Mouse Review (continued)

Date: 2008-04-27 Nice Mouse This mouse beat my expectations. I thought that due to the price that it would be a little bare boned compared to my older wireless G7, but it is much better than my G7 was. For the price this mouse cannot be beat!
Date: 2008-04-17 G9 is the best gamming mouse great mouse but mine was missing one of its feet. Since nobody sells the feet i have to get it replaced.
The mouse with the grip weighs the same as my regular mouse so i dont see why you would want to make it any heavier.
Date: 2008-04-17 Very good, but wheel concerns I'm a gamer, but not the hardcore 10-zillion DPI mouse kind. I found the G9 to be comfortable and precise for both gaming and general desktop use. (Previous to the G9, I had a Microsoft/Razer Habu, which had a more comfortable handgrip, but the software stunk and it was an absolutely miserable experience for desktop usage for me, never feeling accurate at all despite all my attempts to tweak the settings.)
The G9 is smallish (using either of the interchangeable grips), but not uncomfortable for my medium-large hands. I prefer the rubber-ish "Wide Load" over the sandpapery "Precision Grip". Logitech claims they will have alternate grips available for purchase (I'd love to buy a bigger one if one was available), but none have shown up yet. The mouse has an insert to add extra weight to the mouse, up to 28g. That's nice, but I wish it were double that amount.
Then about 3 weeks ago (about 3 months ownership), the mouse wheel stopped responding to the rolling motions, except occasionally, if you held it upside-down while you rolled it. I googled around and discovered some other G9 owners with the same problem. It was a Friday night when I submitted a tech support request. I received a response on Saturday asking for a scan of my receipt (luckily easily gotten from Amazon's purchase history), and by Sunday I had gotten an email saying I'd receive a replacement in 7-10 days, with no need to return the broken one. (Yay - no need to pack and ship the broken one!) The replacement actually then arrived that Wednesday. (3 days later).
So the Logitech G9 loses a star for the wheel breaking, but gains one for the great (weekend!) service and the hassle-free replacement. I just worry that if the wheel breaks again (since it seems like others are experiencing the same issue), that they may not believe me.
Date: 2008-04-12 pretty good i love this mouse. i wish i can buy another one~ x) thx.
Date: 2008-04-11 Best Mouse I've Ever Owned My last mouse was a G7. I've used multiple optical and laser mice.
This is the best, most comfortable mouse I've ever used. It does have a unique shape, so I do recommend you try to feel one before purchase. I bought mine without seeing one, and I lucked out. I love it.
As an added bonus, it just looks good on my desk.
