The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night Review
User Submitted The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night Reviews
Date: 2009-01-06 Spyro: The Eternal Night My son loves this game but I would not recommend it for kids who scare easily. This is much darker than the original Spyro so be prepared for a different, not so light game.
Date: 2008-11-25 Spyro..again Spyro is a fun little dragon with all the blood and gore of all lot of the other games. This game interest my 14 year old stepson, who is used to playing "T" and "M" rated games at his house. I have a preteen and primary school age child that love to move this dragon around and meet the challenges that this game and complex goals.
Date: 2008-10-30 Nice game, but they took some of the features of "A New Begining" away. Graphics: 8/10. Charming 3D graphics , stunning particle effects, beautiful environments, you name it. The 3D designers/animators were obviously pros. The only problem is that the pixels are rather sharp, but that's just a minor flaw.
Music: 7.5/10. I won't say perfect, but it is still very good. There are no seams in the looping.
Gameplay: 9/10. Almost flawless. Very good story, (kind of sad), complex combat system, fresh adventure, all-in-all, a great game. One other flaw though: they took out some of the features that were included inside Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. I may well never understand that, but, well, don't let that bother you. Enjoy the game.
Date: 2008-09-17 The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Headache I've been a big fan of the Spyro games for years. I bought the original three games for the PlayStation console on release day. I poured blood, sweat and tears into those games. They were great: imaginitive, creative, and challenging. I could escape from my own world as a kid and become a dragon for a day. It was a dream come true for me.
Unfortunately, the new Spyro game leaves a lot to be desired. Gone is the care-free roaming and playful burning of enemies. Gone is the light-hearted missions and goals. In its place is a long, poorly lit game that makes me squint, swear and scream. Whoever decided to reinvent Spyro had the right idea by creating a more constant-danger ongoing adventure. However, they should have thought twice before they made every single enemy so difficult to kill that the player must die half a dozen times to succeed. This is not how Spyro is supposed to be. Despite my love for Spyro, or probably because of it, I am sorely disappointed in this game, and would not recommend it to others, unless you enjoy sitting in front of the television screen for hours on end yelling and cursing at the purple, pixelated graphic running around at your beck and call.
Date: 2008-09-10 Great game I have nothing to say about it, I gave it as a present and never heard a word about it.
