Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa Review (continued)

Date: 2008-05-31 Potential for becoming a great MMORPG second only to World of Warcraft This game has great potential. It is a blast to play, the chat system is expansive yet refined for simplicity. It still has a few bugs here and there but it is a fairly young game anyhow. The levels are deep yet easy to remember. It has a great travel system, like a mix between WoW's and GW's. The leveling system is unique for an MMORPG and a bit closer to an FPS. It has many FPS qualities.
One of my favorite things about this game is the Capture Point cities that you must acquire through fighting off the Bane(the alien enemy race) and retaking the town via a Capture Point. After obtaining these you must defend it from onslaughts of Bane who try to retake it. If your friends aren't online then just join up with the other players who are and defend a Capture Point for prestige to spend on special items(similar to WoW's honor and token system). This game has little PVP but it is there.
Graphics are very nice and the game runs pretty lagless on your average computer. Players can customize their characters by repainting their armor. The game has its own Auction House type system called the Military Surplus. Players are quite friendly and the game is generous to new players.
I give this game a 4.5 out of 5 because I know it can go really far with the foundation it has set.
Date: 2008-05-23 Started playing 6 months after release April 2008 I recommend that with any game BTW And it is now getting to were it is supposed to be.
An awesome balance between PvP and PvE, it is fun and worth playing as much as any good MMORPG. Great comunity that love the game too.
Listen to the TabulaCast podcast about this game, and you will understand it much better. [...]
I love the story and the players stories and audio is bone chilling cool. Also the AI is awesome and it is so perfect for PvE and PvP to be matched up so well in any game I ever played before.
Tabula Rasa was MUCH better then I was led to believe. At least now it is at this time.
Date: 2008-05-08 Awesome! Awesome game! It has a great community and an awesome development team for patching. Game content is good and there is multiple things to do. The world seems to be massive so there are lots of places to explore. The in-game tutorial is excellent and only takes about 20 minutes (so it doesn't overstay it's welcome). Only thing I didn't like if the camera is 3rd person. There is no 1st person mode which is how I prefer to play most games.
Date: 2008-04-09 Great Idea...just not quite there I've played a lot of computer games over the years and was very interested in trying a MMO mixed with a first person shooter. I read the reviews on other gaming sites saying that this game wasn't that great but when it went on sale here on amazon I decided to give it a shot. Well I have to report the reviews are right, the concept of the game is great but the implementation is just not there. After playing World of Warcraft this game leaves much to be desired.
Date: 2008-03-12 This game rocks This game is a load of fun. They are constantly adding content to this game. This game is very original and fast paced. It is fun to use shotguns and rifles instead of the usual magic items or spells. You get a feel that you are always fighting for you life. As of this time almost all serious bugs have been fixed. New hybrid classes have been added. They have added new content that would normally be saved for an expansion. This game is well worth the money.
