Date: 2008-09-30 MERCENARIES 2 ABOUT THE SAME AS THE FIRST ONE BUT NOT QUITE AS GOOD, I THINK.IT SEEMS TO BE SLOWER AND GRAPHICS ARE NOT AS GOOD.COULD HAVE HAD A FEW MORE MISSIONS TO COMPLETE ALSO
Date: 2008-09-30 Great Game not much improvement in graphics The game play is great action is good but graphics are not much improved from previous version.
Date: 2008-09-24 Not as god as expected I was excited to get this game after owning and playing the first one. I was happy with the new map and area, since Korea was getting old, but i was disappointed at the size. its big but i was expecting it to be huge according to the websites claims. I was mad that the trees are not able to be destroyed and burnt as stated they would be, and im assuming they cut lot of nice features from the ps2 version. I can understand this in order to get it to work for the platform, but dont say that things are gonna be in it when they arent. Also it was really short. I beat all the missions in no time and i was left with a feeling of, thats it?" I liked the whole water aspect though, thats a definite improvement, and theres alot of vehicles to drive. Its fun, but left me wanting more.
Date: 2008-09-14 Save your money and rent it This game was postponed for over a year and in that time it appears EA did nothing to improve the game, but spent that time developing its sale's pitch. This game is bad (bad as in bad) Awful, not only does it play like a last gen X-box game, but the story (if you can call it that) is lacking. So let's pick it up from there, shall we? As a mercenary in Venezuela you are betrayed by a dictator and now seek revenge. Along the way you work with the Allied Nations, the Chinese government, some local rebels, and others to exact your revenge. With all these factions one might believe there would be some side quest/plots/missions, well guess what? There are none! So the story line fails, let's look at the game play.
The only saving grace of the game is the game play, but don't expect any huge improvements from the first Mercenaries. Destroying buildings (which is the main selling point of the game has been enhanced) And you are given a lot of weapons to accomplish this: Tanks, explosives, air strikes... The destruction of the buildings and the havoc caused is the games best part. But watching people run around from a small nuke being dropped can get old after awhile. So what about the AI? Pathetic! I stopped counting the number of times the bad guys were stuck in a wall or just standing there waiting for me to shot them. Your teammates are just as bad. So I guess my final assessment is to save your money and just rent this game, you'll find it incredibly easy and the replay value is zero.
