Original art and story, no gameplay changes
If you liked Oblivion, then I'm sure this expansion is great. It has some beautifully weird scenery that is completely different from Oblivion's or any of the other TES games. In addition, the quest are involved, original, and fun

On the other hand, it has the same gameplay issues that made Oblivion a terrible RPG: leveled items/creatures, fast travel, and generic dungeons.

Fact is, this expansion is even easier than Oblivion. If youve already levelled high enough in Oblivion, the whole expansion and most of the items in it are a joke. I dont think I died once. How fun is that? I know I dont like it when I never die in FPS's but for some reason people think its ok in Oblivion.

Great add-on
Great add-on. Adds very enjoyable hours to Oblivion. It also has some of the weirdness missing from Oblivion that I enjoyed so much about Morrowind!

An exceptional expansion pack
I must be one of the few people who can't get enough of the Oblivion game world. When the Shivering Isles expansion was announced, I was incredible excited. And the wait was well worth it!

Shivering Isles adds a gigantic new game world, with two vastly unique art styles. One half of the island, Mania, is a colorful world full of vibrancy and overindulgence. The other half of the island, Dementia, is a dark and foreboding place, with a depressed color palette.

The quests throughout the island are nearly as diverse, ranging from tasks for the mad god Sheogorath to helping out the island's inhabitants. The main storyline is incredibly engaging, and features a number of twists and turns. I highly recommend this expansion for fans of Oblivion!

Range Expation
I like the mad looser and the wierd area in this expansion, u start with a very nice scenery and totally new monsters and ppl, everything is very different in this expansion which makes it nice. BUT the game itself is archer based. U get arrows to kill a gate keeper so if ur not good with a bow u will throw them by hand ? untill now i only got archer items and bows and nothing interesting for the shield and sword lovers. Another thing is this game crashed my pc so many times, it ruined my windows and burnt my ram so be very carefull with it. They say the new patches fixed it but i havent installed it since the accident, the game gets boring when u keep starting over so many times.

A pretty good add on to Oblivion.
When you first start up Oblivion after installing Shivering Isles you get a message that tells you that a strange portal has opened up somewhere.Once you find the portal and enter it you meet a man that fills you in on whats going on and then he lets you in the door to the island. The first thing you notice when you enter the realm is that it's breath takingly beautiful. There is a lush landscape of trees, brush, mushrooms, waterfalls and large hills that seem to go on forever.Even though this game is an expansion pack it is huge in its own right. It can take you a while to travel across the isles and get to Sheogoraths palace. The first thing you notice when you start talking to the people of the Isles is the fact that they are all friggen nuts!Pretty much all the npc's in this game talk to you in riddles and dont make a whole lot of sense. The most crazy of all the people in the Isles is Sheogorath himself,he is the mad God that runs the Isles and he has a bit of a problem(aside from being insane).Creatures have snuck into Sheogoraths realm and he needs your help to get rid of them.Sheogorath is a crack up,he will keep you laughing with his own demented brand of logic. The humor in this expansion pack is dark but not so dark that it offends. The Shivering Isles is a nice add on to Oblivion and is filled with tons of little side quests that will keep you playing for hours on end.If you have done almost everything there is to do in the main Elder scrolls game then you should pick this pack up.
