Short but Sweet

Bioshock is one of the best games I have played this year. With awesome graphics, well-placed controls, gripping storyline, and intense twists, this game has it all.

The graphics in Bioshock are truly captivating, and the simple controls add to the experience. You really feel like you are in the underwater city of Rapture. The attention to detail, from papers on the floor that fell off a desk, to small signs of struggle and rebellion from insane inhabitants, makes it easy to forget you are playing a game. The controls are nicely laid out, being second nature after just a few minutes. You don't have to constantly try to remember how to change your plasmid; it is soon just a reflex, so you are truly reacting in the moment instead of struggling with your controller.

I was instantly drawn in by the fascinating storyline. The emotions are intense taking you from terrified, to relieved, to horrified, to furious as you battle your way through Rapture. The twists in the plot are unexpected and keep you on your toes as you desperately try to figure out your role in it all. Between killing crazy splicers, sneaking around Big Daddies, and navigating your way through the maze that is Rapture, there is never a dull moment to be had.

The only negative thing I have to say about Bioshock is that it was too short. It left me begging for more, taking me only about twenty-two hours to go through once. But, this game is too much fun to only play one time, so there's easily forty hours of game play. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes killing lunatic splicers, chasing power-hungry madmen, and dealing with the giant guardian Big Daddies in the form of an occasionally frightening first person shooter. To reach this games full potential, be sure to play in the dark. You might just have trouble sleeping.

Not my type of game
This game have really good graphics a detail in the scenarios the story line seems complicated and not likely since the city was build 50 years ago in the bottom of the sea with very futuristic technology (yes I know is a video game but still) the game play its very good and scary the enemy's are frightening fast and agile, I haven't finished because I got bore of it I'm sure it got something to do with the fact that this game its not my type of game, I expect something more like the Resident Evil saga but I would have to wait a little longer for Resident Evil 5

An immersive experience
I found this game to be really fun and I though it lived up to most of its hype. It had a creepiness to it that I found refreshing. Everything in the environment including the music added to the immersive feel of the game. I love a good FPS, but I'm generally more of a RPG person, and this game gave me a little of both. I liked the genetic alterations, they were interesting to use, but some of them I found a bit pointless (which was fine, because I just had a few that I leveled up more instead). I also really liked the photography aspect. It kind of reminded me of Fatal Frame.

The story line was great. It had a fantastic twist, and I really like how at the end, so many things that happened that I was questioning was explained with one fell swoop of happenings.

I did find the map hard to follow much of the time, and didn't like that I relied on the pointer. It wasn't terrible, but all the arrows and similar looking areas was a bit time consuming when I wanted to find certain things.

Anyway, all in all, I highly recommend it to at least try, and if you are a big fan of beautiful worlds with intricate details, FPS games with a twist of RPG elements then you would probably enjoy it.

Get this game!
I am not a hard core gamer, but I have played Halo 3, Call to Duty, and Elder Scrolls IV. Bioshock makes them all look bad. This game is as addictive as anything I can imagine. Unusual theme and graphics. Not for young kids (hell I might be too young as it gave me strange dreams). Lots of cool bad guys and enough story to keep you focused on your goals. If you have a system with suround sound you will need to keep the lights on not to be freaked out. Very awesome!

This game is awesome! But too Short!
We loved this game. The only thing wrong with it, it was too short! We finished it in about a week. We had a lot of fun with it though.
