I beat Free Bird on Medium!!!!!!!
It really is true that i beat Free Bird on Medium. This is a game any rock fan must get. Even if you aren't one, it will turn you into a rockstar.
Here are some tips
Your Mom does not count as a fan
Keep a minifridge in your practice space
And the most important: Beware of The Shred!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disappointed
Everyone I talk to agrees with me on this: the songs in Guitar Hero 2 just aren't as good. There's a ton of metal and such, so they're not as fun for me and I don't recognize them. It's not a surprise, though, if you look at the bonus songs by bands of the game creators in Guitar Hero 1. I'm just saying that they better just be holding onto "Don't fear the Reaper" for Guitar Hero 3. However, you get to play freebird.

Back for an encore
Guitar Hero II was one of the most widely anticipated games of 2006. It's prequel, Guitar Hero, was one of (probably THE) best music game I have ever played. With such guitar classics as "Smoke On The Water", "Take Me Out", and "Ziggy Stardust", Guitar Hero I would be hard to top. So how does Guitar Hero II match up?

First of all, I highly reccommend getting one or two guitars. They are quite accessible at gaming stores and are a lot of fun once you get them. Trust me, they're worth the extra buck. When I popped this game into my PS2, the first eight songs looked and played amazing. I kept going, and after completing the entire setlist, I must say that the setlist is even better than that of I. Some of the best picks are "Sweet Child O' Mine", "Heart Shaped Box", "War Pigs" and "You Really Got Me". The game also brings to the table a practice mode, which includes the ability to slow down the tempo until your fingers familiarize themselves with the particular tune. If you've played the first, you know that it, in and of itself, is actually very similar to the guitar. Quite easy to pick up and play simple tunes, but can take forever to master. This game, with four difficulty modes (easy, medium, hard, and expert), tons of unlockables, and an extremely high replay value, proves my point. The replay value is extremely high, I must have played "Heart Shaped Box" at least 30 times and it's not close to getting old.

The old standards are all here as well: Versus mode, Career mode, and Quick Play (seriously, what guitar based game would exclude those options?) along with several new characters, guitars, purchaseable songs, videos, you name it. The booklet that comes with the game is also quite innovative; based like a guitar magazine complete with an interview with Axel Steel, one of the game's characters. In my opinion, it beats its predecessor, and that's not something easily done. A very well deserved 5 out of 5.

Guitar Hero Delivers!
This game was purchased as a gift for my 17 year old. He has had more fun playing this game than any other PS2, XBOX or Gamecube game! He will play in solo mode, he and his friends will play - sometimes taking turns, sometimes playing with two guitars. They enjoy the music and laugh while playing. The surprise has been how much my son and husband enjoy the game together - they both love the same kind of music and enjoy some great father son bonding time. The game and the controllers were some of the best money we spent on video gaming in the last two years!

Much better than the original
The songs sound better, the play is smoother, especially in the hammer-ons and pull-offs, and they have a great song selection. The songs in this one are ones that people aren't already sick of hearing, until after they play the game for two months non-stop. Warning!!!! This game is addicting.
