Date: 2007-04-05 Great game... and not only for children When you hear the name Viva Piñata and you know that there's a childern tv series, you may think that this is a game for children. But that's absolutly wrong, this is one of the finest games for the xbox 360, and the level of diculty is enough to make happy to all those "Sims-like" games fans.... this is a real master piece from our Rare-MGS friends... give this game a chance... belive me, you won't be dissapointed
Date: 2007-03-28 A solid, unique game everyone should try. Though it may seem like a kiddy game, everyone with an Xbox 360 should try this game. Its pretty fun; however, it sucks that they give you a limited garden at the beginning of the game. Overall, the game is fun and looks great, but does get repetitive after awhile, much like any game for that matter.
Date: 2007-03-25 I'm in trouble at work As a few other reviewers have writen, I bought this game, hoping that I could play this with my girlfriend, who told me the last game she really got into was Animal Crossing--I never played it, but heard the comparisons.
I'll cut to the chase, I just hit the 50 hour achievement, and I've only had the game two weeks. Wow. Not only am I hooked, but so is my girlfriend, and together, we've really lost out on a lot of sleep. We'll be sitting on the couch, looking at the clock read 2:00am, knowing that we still need that Dragumfly to become a resident in the garden, but that will take at least 2 more hours because of all the other tasks we're juggling. Tons of fun. Expect to lose sleep, and hopefully not your job!
**note, to beginning players, don't be affraid to invest in the tower of sour pieces (they prevent sour pinatas from coming into the garden, and thus, disrupting all your tasks) you can turn them off whenever you want, to attempt to turn them into resident/good pinatas. Oh yeah, give the begger 1,000 coins as quick as you can, which unlocks his shop, so you can upgrade your watering can and garden items (that sword looking thing / and the desardos statue) which prevent pretty much any *bad* thing from entering your garden. This will save you a huge amount of time and headache.
Date: 2007-03-24 A game for the family At the begining I thought the game was boring, but after a few minutes of play it became more and more interesting.
It is a game for the whole family, above all because it is one of those few games for Xbox 360 that does not consist in killing a human fellow. Children and adults can play, and parents can play in a cooperative mode with their children.
The game consists in taking care of a garden, the better you do it, the more animals (Piñatas) will be willing to live in it. The more Piñatas you have in your garden, the more trouble you get into. The better you do it, the more space they give you for your garden.
There are so many things to do in the game that sometimes one does not even know where to start first. Actually, it sometimes feel overwhelming. Those who likes building things from scratch will love this game while they turn a deserted dump into an Eden full of life.
This is hours and hours of gameplay while you strive to get all the achievements. After some hours of striving to create a paradise full of peace and beauty, though, you may start to get bored of taking care of the conflicting Piñatas who constantly fight between each other. Plus you are constant need to make them fall in love between one other to sustain the balance of the species in your garden as well as to make money to buy other services and goods. Also they get sick and need to be protected from a few enemies.
Date: 2007-03-21 Very good game! If you're into "SIM" type games, you'll probably love Viva Pinata. It's creative, innovative and a lot of fun. Granted this might not be for everyone, however if you are interested in the general genre, I'd highly recommend this title. Pick it up!
