Date: 2008-01-23 Let's Ride Silver Buckle Stables I bought this game for my seven year old daugther. She's had it for a while now and still loves it as much as she did the first day. And every now and then, you will find me sneaking a turn, just going for a run on the cross country course, or taking on the challenge of a barrel race around some trees in the woods. I would buy it again, and I am definitely going to expand on the "Let;s Ride" series.
Date: 2008-01-22 A must have for barrel racing lovers!! Wow, this game is a must have for anyone who likes barrel racing! The graphics are really pretty good, and as far as the horses, they're out of this world!!! True, it isn't as challenging as some horse games I've played, but it's very fun, and actually relaxing!(except when you have to compete at the "Equestrian Center") But all round, this game is really fun, I would highly recommend it!
Date: 2007-12-30 Great game - for newer computers Santa brought this game for my girls, who are 4 and 6. Both have really enjoyed playing the game - on my newer computer. They have their own computer - a 2002 Sony VAIO. It will not play on this machine. I have updated all the drivers and still no go. I read someone with Vista custom installed and did the same with no better results. Finally emailed support and did receive a prompt reply. My video card is too old to play the game. So be sure your video card meets the specs - 32MB 3D graphics and FULLY DIRECTX 8.1 compatible.
It's a great game for my kid's age as it becomes a little redundant after you've fed, watered and ridden a couple of times. But they don't care. They just change the horse's color or the like and keep on playing!
Date: 2007-12-01 Fun for any horse lover I received the game today and it was a little frustrating installing the game onto my computer because I have Windows Vista. If you are having the same problem with the wizard being interrupted like I did, you have to Custom install it and make sure you don't install the DirectX9 component. After I figured that out, the game installed and loaded like it was suppose to. The game works great on Vista, graphics are fabulous and much better than I expected. I like that you can ride around the farm without the game blocking you from different areas. You can ride the horse to the practice arena and back again, take off to other places if you want to.
I'm still practicing with the movements and with the different formations you can ride - but the directions are pretty straight forward. I really liked the tutorials in the beginning of the game to get acquainted with the game. Some games don't do that and you end up hunting down the tutorials if you have problems. This game is very easy and a joy to play. I only have it a few hours and I can tell it's going to be addicting.
Now that I had a pleasant experience with this game, I'll probably buy some of the others in the collection.
Date: 2007-05-05 fun for a while Silver Buckle Stables is not one of the best games out there but it still is fun. I like it that you can walk around barn and not just click for where you want to go. the game is fun at first, but after you've unlocked every thing and have gotton to the highest level there is'nt much to do. Some of the good points of this game are: it has pretty good graphics, it's very realistic, you can name your horses, and you can ride around in the fields just for fun. Some of the bad points are: it gets boring after a while, and the horses never eat the feed they're given unless they're practicaly starving. one other extra detail is, If you hit Caps Lock the character will run.
