Date: 2007-05-23 Lame realism - great graphics If you're a kid and just like the pizazz, lots of graphics and sounds, it's great. But any real football will recognize immediately this game isn't even close to being realistic. The franchise mode lets you simulate a season, games, etc., but I played a whole season with Micheal Vick as QB, and he had negative yardage rushing for the year!?? And I had an injury at offensive tackle, and the computer put in my PUNTER as an OT!?? Ridiculous. It regularly converts 3 and forever. In one game I had Tom Brady's team convert 8 times with 3rd and over 15 yards! Just totally unrealistic stuff. There's no relation between the play called and the outcome on the field. In one super bowl I saw Ronnie Brown run TWICE for over seventy yard TD's against a run defense!?? It has such a cool look, that you wish they would have made it more like real football. QB's consisently have over 150 QB rating, which almost NEVER happens in real life. It's VERY disappointing in other areas too, like when you have a draft and a team proposes a trade, a stupid window pops up and you can't even see what rookies are left on the board to draft!??? There are WAY too many stats on players that are irrelevant and make it hard to navigate between screens of information. Tons of useless information that clogs up the screens and makes it difficult to tell what any of it means, and lots of stuff on the screen that has no explanations. It could be a great game. As it is, it's just a lot of hype and graphics masking a really lame football game.
Date: 2007-02-25 awesome at begining but gets boring THis is a good game with the franchise and superstar hall of fame. But it sucks because nothing new happens its the same stuff game after game with the exceptional invisible gatorade being poured over the coaches head at the end of the superbowl. If YOUR WANTING TO BUY A GAME THAT WILL NOT GET OLD AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF PLAYING DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
Date: 2007-02-19 Excellent improvements from last year I created a kicker and hit a 75 yard field goal with a 13mph wind aiding me!
Date: 2007-01-26 New to Madden NFL Realy good graphics but I would only recommend it for newer computers. This is the first time I've purchased a football game and I was surprised how the game designers assume everyone buying this has been playing video football for a long time. . Slim on the instructions and I read where the game was designed with a specific Logitech controller in mind, (not the one I have and it didn't map that great). Probably any new controller would map fine.
Date: 2007-01-24 My Grandson Loves It ! This was another christmas gift to my 6 yr. old grandson. He really loves this game. He already mastered the Madden 2006 and is really into the Madden 2007. He showed his father how to play the game and now they both play together. They can't get enough of it. My grandson said its the best.
