What happens when you combine Star Trek with poor Console Develpoers?
Add one measure of Star Trek with about 40 measures of extremely incompetant game development, and you get this amazing little wart of a game! And trust me folks, I am NOT kidding.
I have played just about every Star Trek game there is, and nearly NONE has been this bad. (And that says a LOT since there have been some pretty poor Star Trek games released to date! "Star Trek: New Worlds" anyone?).
The only thing this game has going for it is mighty pretty graphics, but don't worry, it all goes quickly downhill from there!
For starters, this game suffers quite badly from 'consolitis'. It's control scheme does NOT suit the PC at all. It barely suits consoles, either. This game at times tries to act as a 'fly from behind your ship' theme, but often also requires an almost 'Star Trek: Armada' style of control. It does NEITHER well.
I won't get into the addition of 'Enterprise' content, though I do not like that show, or consider it to be worthy of addition to even a good game. I know that show has it's fans, and overlook this.
This game also has more bugs than a herpetologist's fantasy collection! I've played some buggy games before, (the first release of Battlecruiser 3000 leaps to mind), but most had at least something to get me to keep trying to continue. Not this one though.
You want to play a GOOD Star Trek game? Look for Star Trek: Bridge Commander, (which thanks to available mods looks even better than this piece of space trash). Do not torture yourself by buying this one!
A final word I will give you on this: If you simply MUST play this regardless of it's almost universally poor reviews, get an X-box controller, or you will end up tearing out your own hair in total disgust. Star Trek already has enough baldness, don't do this to yourself!

Even worse than Starfleet Command
This game was bad! The controls are hard to use, there is no joystick interface, and no ability to change the controls in the game. The game takes forever to do anything. Destroying one ship is a chore and I have no confidence that further gameplay will allow me to get any better. After all the hype for this game I was extremelly disappointed. For not having a new Star Trek game for a couple years, you would think they would put one out of better quality. If you want a Star Trek game, I would suggest Star Trek Bridge Commander. I still like that one. In STBC you can fly the ship in a similar way to this game if you like, and it is easier to manuver. Otherwise you can have the con officer fly and just command from the captain's chair. So it gives you a few choices. But I would either find another game or save your money. Because Star Trek Legacy is not worth your time or money.

Captain we are leaking Plasma
Star Trek Legacy is a great game with great graphics. It has the all the ships for Romulan,Klingon,Borg, and Federation ships from small ships to big ships this game is great. only a few minor problems. You may need to download a servicepack for better graphics in Nebulas. Nebulas have a great thing that allows ship damage to make the game a little tough. This game I recemend for gamers who like a challang(A BIG chalage). I do not recemend this game for people or kids or Tennagers who get frusterated ehen you lose. (you may want to gat some cheats.)

Better to poke your eyes out with a dull spoon
THIS IS THE WORST GAME.... EVER!

All of the below comments regarding defects in the interface are true. The game is unplayable and also quite boring. You'd be better off taking the money and burning it. SHAME on the game producers who issued this undeniable piece of crap. They saw the chance to make a buck with a terrible product and ended up damaging not only my opinion of thier company, but of the Star Trek brand itself. I will never buy another product from Bethesda Softworks and I suggest you do not either. Also, I will think twice about any other Star Trek software product. NBC seems more interested in milking it for every penny possible rather than doing anything to maintain and improve the brand.

Again, you'd be better off peeling off your own skin and bathing in alcohol than buying this product.

DON'T BOTHER!
Here's the most honest review you may find Star Trek gamers.
I wish I could have given this game high marks but here are the reasons why I don't:

Control pitch for ships, too sensative.
Missions in the beginning are way too complicated leaving you frustrated at times.
As far as pro(s) go, I'll give the game credit where credit is due.
Excellent graphics, realistic sounds and storyline.
Quite honestly, I wish Activision had been on this project given how well they did Armada I and II
Maybe the next one will be better, but overall, I felt very let down given how good previous games have been.
