Date: 2007-02-02 BEFORE YOU BUY DO THIS! IT'S FREE AND EASY!! I recieved this game for Christmas and was very disappointed when I found out it wouldn't work on my Windows XP Dell. I have the wrong video card. A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL HAVE THE WRONG CARD, FIND OUT IF YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME ON YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE YOU BUY!!! I wish I knew this before: go to the Eidos Interactive website, click on "games" choose Lego Star Wars from the list. On that page, there is an option to run a download that will ANALYZE your computer and tell you if you can play this game or not! Doing this also provides you with all the information about your sound and video cards. This was so helpful. It's a tiny download and it's free. Took it 60 seconds to check my comp. I failed sadly, but it even gives to links to places where you can get the right cards. GO HERE FIRST!
Date: 2007-01-24 Ridiculous Hardware Requirements Luckily, I checked this out of the local library prior to purchasing it, because when installing it on my son's computer he got the imfamous pixel shader error, ironically, AFTER the install was almost complete... why not check that first?
Anyway, I find it hard to believe Quake 4 has no problem, but LEGO STAR WARS with it's _advanced_ pixel shaded graphics can't run on his PC!!??? Utterly ridiculous.
Date: 2007-01-12 Lego Star Wars - great fun! I grew up being a Star Wars geek. It was great fun to play Lego Star Wars. The game does a great job of capturing the feel of the Star Wars universe, and still makes it hysterical! The little touches make the game great. The gameplay is easy, not frustrating or difficult to master. The puzzles are not going to make you pull your hair out, but are challenging enough to keep you entertained.
It is well worth the money spent. Its just good clean fun. I can comfortably recommend the game to players of almost any age.
I hope this helps you!
Date: 2007-01-09 Great Game!!!! for young kids & adults, lego&star wars fans!! I thought this game was great. I can't wait to purchase the sequal to this game. Although I beat this game in no time but it was still enjoyable. I'll be going back to unlock the bonuse level. The only issue I had was some levels required to have two players in order to move on. Other than that it was star wars lego fun.
Date: 2007-01-09 Lego Star Wars a hit with my kids... While some of the scenarios can be somewhat challenging for those who are not superior PC gamers, based on my kids' continued interest in this game, there is plenty of fun to be had. The game stays true to the Star Wars spirit in story and in play. Although the play, not surprisingly, does fall into the Lego rubric as well.
As far as the game being "non-violent," the "death" of a non-player character is shown by it exploding into its Lego pieces - it is actually humerous. The player characters do the same but there is no maximum number of lives that ends the game.
