Pokemon Fire Red Version Review (continued)

Date: 2007-02-01 Nostalgia, anyone? I can't help but feel a little nostalgic when I see the younger gamers talk about Lt. Surge and Fuscia City. It brings back memories when I started playing 10 years ago. Wow, 10 years, and I got every main Pokemon Gameboy game. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, allow me a moment here. ...Okay, we're good. First of all, the graphics are just amazing for a GBA game, better than everything I'd seen so far. Secondly, if you're a Pokemon vet like me, you'll enjoy the return to the Pokemon roots, though the replay that occurs every time you turn the game back on gets annoying after a while. Also, if you're a Pokemon newbie, or are too young to know the original Pokemon games, FireRed and LeafGreen are a good place to start. A tip for the newbies, start with Bulbasaur. A wily old vet like me will pic Charmander and have that bad boy, or girl, (Pokemon gender, nature, and everything else that was introduced between Gold/Silver and Ruby/Sapphire is in these games FireRed/LeafGreen) know moves/be powerful enough to take out every oter type of Pokemon no problem. Now, back to the game itself. The inclusion of Johto region Pokemon like Lugia and Ho-oh and Suicune is pretty good, if you ask me, because it's not every game you get to catch every rare Pokemon, though, in true Pokemon spirit, you really can't on your own with only one version, but still, more rare Pokemon on one cart is definitely a good thing. To come to a close, would I reccomend Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen to newbies and vets alike? Yes.
Date: 2007-01-16 Better graphics Remember the old Red Version? This is it but with better graphics. All They did was remake the very first Pokemon games. To me that is just a waste of money but my boys wanted it and so I got it. They have now beat it within a few weeks of playing because they already had beat the red blue and yellow versions of Pokemon years ago. So if you really liked thoses games and wanted to see them with better graphics get this game but if you are looking for a new Pokemon game to beat I wouldn't get this one its just a remake.
Date: 2007-01-12 Awesome game! I was obsessed with the game, "Pokemon Crystal" . I was anxously awaiting for pokemon to make a GBA game like it, so i could use it on my DS. On came the Ruby and Sapphire versions, which, no offense, i dont like. So then, i heard of this game. i checked it out online and found that it was a lot like the original Crystal game!
I was disappointed when i first found out that there is no Jhoto town. But, i recently discovered that you CAN obtain all Jhoto pokemon, using the larger pokedex you get later in the game. OOps! Just now, i accidentaly evolved my Pikachu too early! Oh well. I also evolved my Gloom and my growlithe :/ not such a mistake, i just didnt know to evolve it later! they are only level 25. It will be harder to train them. But hey, i like a challenge.
All in all, this is a fine game! Buy it! No regrets shall come of you!
Date: 2007-01-09 Pokemon Fire Red My granddaughter has played this game more than any other since I gave it to her for Christmas. She definitely gives it a thumbs-up.
Date: 2006-12-13 first game (a great one) This was my first Pokemon game ever. I love it. Currently I have five badges (I earned the SOULBADGE today.) And, I am in Fucshia City. I am about to try the safari zone.
LT Surge was just too easy! The hardest thing about him was that you had to turn on the switches under the trash cans.
Some things you will probably like about this game are as follows: defeating Team Rocket is kinda cool. As far as I know from my limited Pokemon game experience this is the most detailed Team Rocket destruction game yet. There are also twists when you enter each gym to make it difficult to get to the gym leader. This was probably in previous games, but it is still cool for me.
There are some problems with this game. They are the music - it's kinda annoying when you're on your bike. Also, while in the field the music is classic. The gym leaders do not give you the HM that you would get when you defeated that leader - for example, Koga does not give you surf.
I will finish my review with some reccomendations: Drop the Pokemon that use evolution stones to evolve at day care centers, that way they are a higher level when you use the stone. Finally, train your Pokemon as equally as possible.
