Fable: The Lost Chapters Review (continued)
More User Submitted Fable: The Lost Chapters Reviews
Date: 2008-02-23 Lost Chapters? The frat boys got together for this one. The new chapters have some pretty good content. But the zoned mushroom traders and the mild dis to alternate sexual persuasions didn't ring true to the first game. Otherwise, it was worth the little I paid for the expanded content.
Date: 2008-01-14 An interesting game but not appropriate for kids under 18 I bought this game knowing there would be a certain level of violence. What is not mentioned on the Amazon site, and was only known to me when I received the product is that there is also sexual content. I would urge Amazon (and all other web vendors) to have standard full disclosure of all rating information displayed on the game package. It may also prove useful if Amazon were to enhance the (customer) game review process by addition of check-boxes for various categorizations, e.g. age appropriate, level of violence, sexual content, etc., then allow search/sort on these values.
Date: 2007-12-26 One Of My Favs I played Fable a couple of years ago on my friend's xbox. Then, after playing and beating the game several times, she took it back and I was sad. So, eventually I bought The Lost Chapters for PC and eh well..it's not as good on PC if you have a slow PC, let's just put it that way. And I don't like playing games on PC. BUT, then I got a new computer this past summer and was all excited because I could play it on it since it was faster, but no..it wasn't compatible with Vista so it messed up and I had to take it off. Now, I have an Xbox 360 and I was overjoyed that it actually worked on it. I thought that I would have to download some software to the 360 in order to play it. And you know the best part? I got Fable: The Lost Chapters Platinum Hits for $4.99. HA! I went on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and found it on sale! Now I'm playing it on my 360!!
Now on a none-lame note, yes, if you like making your own choices and love fantasy creatures and worlds and magic and swordfighting, then play this game. There's a wide variety of choices to make and marry, along with buying and finding many weapons and armor. And after you're done with the game you can continue on to be even more of a renown hero by owning houses and just simply going anywhere that you please and gaining experience to become the best, if you're a freak like me and love this game. Fun, beautiful, great storyline. I recommend it.
Date: 2007-12-20 Fable: The Pros and Cons So Fable was supposed to be this huge, innovative chose your own destiny game that was supposed to make our mouths drop open. I'd say it did a fairly good job of doing that. And here's why...
Pros: -The Visuals and environments were fantastic, especially in HD. -The controls were simple and effective. -Character development was spot on. -The quests were fairly self explanatory and there was no shortage of them. -Weapons and armor were well done and the choices and combinations of each were fairly abundant. -The choice based system was great but left a little to be desired (which is why this same statement will be a con as well). -Damage taken throughout the game shows on your characters body. -Character aging...and certain things age you faster, like heavy magic use. But certain things can make you younger.
Cons: -The choice based system was great but left a little to be desired. For instance, when you are trying to be good, killing attacking people like bandits counts as an evil deed. I guess the game expects you to run from all fights. -The game sort of feels incomplete, even the Lost Chapters version. The original felt much more incomplete though...mainly because it was. -The targeting system was pretty poorly done. During magic use especially, you would often target friendlies and cause very bad things to happen.
All in all the game was a lot of fun and well worth the time and money put in to it. I'm very excited for Fable 2 to be released. I think it will be the first game I'll ever pay full price for it right when it comes out. That's how much fun I thought this game was.
Date: 2007-12-14 Customization is Key... i baught Assassins Creed thinking it would be the game of the year...only to be highly dissapointed with its Mundane Repetition...so i took it back and picked up Fable. iv had my eye on Fable since 2005 but never really gave it the time of day until now...
i guess i should thank Assassins Creed for sucking..because i absolutely LOVE the customization that Fable offers as far as changing your Look to selling your equipment to buying houses and getting married. this is the direction games NEED to be going in when it comes to putting the player in Complete Control of the game they have purchased. its kind of like the Sims meets Assassins Creed. you dont even have to beat the game to enjoy all it has to offer. i spend all my time killing thieves in different sections and taking their money, finding treasures and pawning them and investing in new homes and getting multiple wives.
iv only had it for 2 days now but its definately worth the purchase for only 10 bucks. pick it up if your bored with Assassins Creed and you like the Sims.
iLL .
