Decent, but overblown
First of all I have to say that when I first got the game, I thought it was awesome. I don't normally read manuals unless the game is totally new to me. However, I soon noticed that this game is NOT the greatest racing game. First, the tracks just aren't as interesting as Mario Kart 64. There are less shortcuts, less strategy. All you need are items in this game. That's it. Plus, there really aren't any secrets in thiw game. In Mario Kart 64, there were lots of shortcuts, the ability to jump (over bananas), and the ability to make the banana to nothing to you (character whistles). If you have a lot of extra cash, then you may want to get this game. However, if you are a real hardcore gamer, you may want to spend your money on something else.

This is way better than the previous three. The graphics are a lot better and there's more characters (20). There are also better courses,(there are 16) and you can choose beetween different karts, (there are 21) each being light, medium, or heavy. Also in this game there are two racers in a kart, one in the front and one in the back, the one in the front driving and the one in the back throwing items. The two new Battle games in Battel mode are Bomb-omb Blast and Shine Thief. And of course, Nintendo didn't leave out the old Balloon Blast. In Bomb-omb Blast, the object is to throw bombs at your opponents. In Shine Thief, you have to keep the Shine thing for a long time, and you lose it if your opponents hit you with an item. Battle courses are the only let-downs. They are very short and not at all like the fun ones in Mario Kart 64. This game is fun and enjoyable for any age.

Incredibly boring tracks."2 riders" idea adds almost nothing
Ok I just want to let you people know that in terms of gameplay, this is kart racing at its best. But the most important part of any racing game by far in my opinion is the tracks you have to race on. They have to be interesting and well designed. The tracks are what made MK64 so fun, they were well designed, long, creative, etc.... I expected a LOT better from Double dash. Theres probably about a total of 4 or 5 decent tracks in this game. Not very impressive! Very few shortcuts, boring design, nothing special at all.And as far as the 2 riders idea, its so overhyped its rediculous. Ok, so instead of seeing a banana peel flying from your cart..... um... you see another character throwing it? Each player has their own special item, but that doesnt really matter, its pretty much choosing which special weapon you like best. And switching drivers and riders in mid-race does absolutely nothing. I just wanted to warn the people who like awesome tracks in their racing games, and that this 2 rider idea adds nearly nothing to the game at all. Big stepdown from Mario Kart 64.

Mario Reclaims the Racing Genre
One of the fastest, most intese and fun games of all time is back with avengeance. With beautifully colorful graphics, you speed around in your kart and throw shells, fire, bombs, chompers and other weapons at your enemies. The new two-person-per-kart feature is absolutely amazing. The co-op mode gives an extra spice to this game. The new multiplayer mode, Shine Thief, is one of the mode heart-racing multiplayer games ever! You can play it a hundred times and it will never lose its intensity. I could go on explaining why this game is so good, but I'm sure you already know, having played MarioKart 64 or any of the MarioKart games. I leave you with the final words: GO BUY THIS GAME! If you haven't got a Gamecube, this is the reason to buy one!

THEN NEXT THING YA,,KNOW IT GETS NUBER 1 ON BEST CHRISTMAS LIST GAME IT'S LIKE PUT THIS ONE FIRST ON YOUR LIST BETTER GRAPHICS DOUBLE THE FUN IT'S LIKE A TAG TEAM RACER MORE WEAPONS IT'S A MUST HAVE YOU GOTA GET IT!! SOO I WAS SYICED I ALREADY KNOWED IT WAS GONNA BE SWEET BECAUSE ALL MY FRIENDS SAID IT WAS AWESOME PLUS IT'S MARIO KART WHY WOULDNT BE SWEET SO I GET IT CHRISTMAS DAY I PLAY IT THE GAME WAS SOO AWESOME WAY BETTER GRAPHICS BIGGER AND BETTER MORE WEAPONS!!!!! SAME MUSIC AS THE N64 A LITTLE DIFFENT THOW NOT MUCH THE GAME IS SOO AWESOME IF YOU LIKE THE N64 WON IT'S THE SAME AS THIS HARDLY NO DIFFENTCE ACXECPT DOUBLE THE FUN!!! THEN TOAD UMM I DINT REALLY LIKE THE BATTE LEVELS ALL THEY WERE WAS A BIG SQUARE YOU COUDLT REALLY DRIVE UP ANY THING WELL LIKE 1 LEVEL YOU COUDLT IT WANT CLASSIC I LOVED THE OLD LEVELS IN N64 WON WHY COULDNT YOU UNLOCK EM IN THIS WON THAT WAS VERY DISIPOINTING NINTENDO!! AND THE RACING LEVELS DIDNT HAVE THE BOWSER LEVEL OR DONKEY KONG COEM ON WHAT KINDA MARIO GAME DOESNT HAVE A BOWSER LEVEL OHH BUT THEY CAN PUT IN A PEACE LEVEL AND WLUGI COME ON AND THEY WERE TO SHORT AND EASY SORTA THEY NEEDED MORE LEVELS TOO!
