Date: 2004-03-23 how good game is this??? Hi! My friend got this game. She played and she didn't like it because she lost alot. She could race. It is not her thing. When I tried I thought it was cool. "You are racing others cars." So I played and I did very well. THen I taught her how to play the right way and now she likes it alot. Now we play everyday. We play each other and we both each other. But the thing you need to have encourage of the game. You don't need to give up to easily. I think you should get some new characters. Some cool cars. The race track are fine, but you need to make it more colorful and fun. When the person reaches to the second game they should get free lif thing. Well, THis game is awesome. Who ever creater it, they did very well.
Date: 2004-03-22 Great for 6 1/2 year old, adults, and everyone in between Both my 6 1/2 year old son and I enjoy this game. It's a go kart racing event where you can choose your characters and go karts. There are many races to choose from. You can race alone or compete against friends. The races last about 4 minutes. There is a feature that allows you to replay the race after you have completed it which is pretty cool. After 4 races, there is an award ceremony if you come in first, second, or third. There is strategy in choosing karts, some are faster, some are better handling. There are many tricks to the race courses that you learn over time, so you are not easily bored. There is a pause feature which is really handy if you have to stop the race to answer the phone or do a chore.
Date: 2004-03-10 W00t I played this game for about 1 week and payed only $35 for it. But was so ready to play this game so baddly. I wasn't disapointed. What I got was what I say + some. But cause I didn't own a N64, I couldn't know how good the oringinal MK was so this was all new to me so of course most of you will say that "of course you gave it 5 stars, its new to you". But up yours! Anyway, the co-play is nice, if you can work as a team. I turly like just the 2 player per kart thing. It's not hard to learn. Thank god the way the nintendo controller is build :D
Date: 2004-03-07 excellent...but like all games, it has its problems mario kart double dash is an excellent racer for the GCN (one of the few really) and i highly recommend this to anyone looking for hours of fun and great multiplayer. there are plenty of characters to choose from (and koopa is back!) and also plenty of cars. the dual kart thing with two people in it takes a tad bit getting used to, but once you do you will never go back to one.now i guess i should share my complaints. first off, the learning curve for this game, while not difficult, does require a little bit more getting used to than other mario karts. unlike mario kart 64, power sliding in this game is a MUST, and if you have never used it before, you will get frustrated with this game at first due to the fact that a lot of courses have tight turns that can screw you up if you don't power slide. also, the tracks, while are very fun, don't seem as creative as past tracks, which is sort of a letdown considering nintendo had a much more powerful system this time around. my final complaint is that there just doesn't seem to be enough tracks. sure, a lot of them are a blast and just great to play over and over and over (like waluigi stadium, bowser's castle, and of course, baby park) but overall there are only 16, which is somewhat a downer, but there are plenty of great tracks that will hold your attention for HOURS. don't let my complaints throw you off, this game is still top notch and in my opinion the best racing game ever. lets hope that they make another for the cube.
Date: 2004-02-28 A dissapointment Most of the reviews I read for this game were all raves. However, it is my experience that they took the things out that were best about mario cart. Example: red shells do not hit the sides anymore, as long as you shoot them they will hit their target. This allows no skill or restraint for using them and just tend to be cheap altogether. Also, the idea that you drop your items when you spin out also proves to be very frustrating. But the main point is that this game is not worth the money that is required for you to put up for it.
