Need for Speed Underground Review
User Submitted Need for Speed Underground Reviews
Date: 2008-11-26 I miss the daylight, but it's still a fun ride. I'm only slowly warming up to the whole idea of decorating one's car to earn "style points" and that sort of thing. I enjoy the drag-racing mode more than I'd imagined I ever would. I enjoy the game in spite of the whole illegal, after-hours aspect of it, with all the questionable characters hanging around and distracting me. I guess the one thing I'd say it's missing is a daytime mode, which could have been included via a cheat code or some such.
Date: 2007-12-09 Extremely fun and cool finally!!! the need for speed franchise brings the import tuner world to the pc for gamers like you and me. Career mode aspect of the game puts you against bosses and regular racers. wile you start from the bottom with small cars like the honda civic or the dodge neon. but working you way up you unlock cars like the acura RSX or the nissan 350z. customization of these cars is pretty sweet but the underground 2 game does it even better. drift is introduced in this game too. Drift is when you slide around the track racking up as many points as possible so you can win. it takes a little getting used to but you can get really good at it . the drag tracks are stoopid awesome with huge jumps an traffic dodging. the only thing that this game needs is some good ol' cop chases, but this is still an awesome game no matter what.
Date: 2007-05-13 For older players I think Need For Speed Underground might be a fun game for older players. My 8 year old enjoyed the game, but was constantly frustrated at only being able to race on one or two tracks because he couldn't ever win enough games to unlock the next level. I would definitely not recommend this game for younger players.
Date: 2006-11-18 Fun, but not educational My child enjoys this game, for hours at a time. That's exactly the problem. The game is good, it is not violent, and it's fun. It is also addictive.
If you don't mind the addictive nature of computer games, and want something that is fun, but non-violent, this is a good choice.
Date: 2006-11-01 Shiny and frantic The underground mode has 112 races in it and by the time you take to complete it, you will a good knowledge of what street racing fanatics live for. The graphics are superb. The blur option can induce some weird feelings if you are sensible. Everything has a coat of shine that reflects on everything. The opponents are difficult but fortunately you can adjust the difficulty settings for each race. I will give you one tip. Late in the races, if you have any difficulty winning, take off all the upgrades in your car. Your opponents will do the same and you should be faster that all of them. However, do not make too much mistakes because they will catch you up pretty fast. There is so much parts and vinyls to unlock that you can spend a lot of time to personalize your car. I did not try the online mode however.
