Awesome, if you're into that sort of thing.
Locked away in my room at 3am, headphones on my head and whispering into my microphone at my teammate on Skype, I play Warcraft like an addict.

The single player version is very interesting, with a great storyline and cool cutscenes. You get to play as several different heroes from different races, and the story develops throughout each one, continuing into the next race. There is one campaign for each race in the original version (Scourge, Sentinel, Orc, etc) and there are even more campaigns in Frozen Throne, along with a "Bonus Campaign" which I highly recommend.

It will take many many hours to finish the campaign, so the game is definately not too easy. However, some levels can get frustrating because of their difficulty. If you're having problems, that's what the strategy guides are for. The battle chest comes with guides that have level-specific tips; they tell you where to go to get a secret item, or what sorts of units to create to counter the attacks.

The gameplay is very similar to that of Starcraft and similar as well to Age of Empires. The controls are simple; click to select, click-drag to select a group, and right-click to move or attack.I find it very easy to control what I want to do, and make 'control groups' (ctrl+a number) to select my units quicker.

The graphics are solid, the music fits the mood, and the game is very, very addicting.

The best part, in my opinion, is DotA - get your friends together and download the map, and spend hours developing your strategy with 77 different heroes, each with their own special ablilities. If you want to play the normal version, that's available as well on Bnet. Playing online is completely free, and updates are sent through the bnet portal.

I love this game!

Why does it always need the CD to play?!?!
Yes, I understand the need to combat pirating and all, but couldn't Blizzard come up with a better solution? Besides, playing the game as often as one would and with the instability of some CD/DVD-ROM's, this just leads to the likelihood of having a damaged CD in the premature obsolescence of a legit copy of the game. Now I must run the risk of installing malware in my search for a no-CD crack.

The game itself is a classic and Blizzard is obviously at the top of its field in game development. The gameplay, graphics, features, and in-game story all hold up very well. I'd have easily given it a 5 out of 5 stars, but with the annoying always-insert-CD requirement, I had to ding it for inconvenience to the consumer.

Great Challenge
I have tried the custom game and find it really challenging against the computer. I will not be taking advantage of the online gaming anytime soon. The main adventures are acheivable but challenging. I had to restart several chapters many times. I have played as the humans, Undead and the Orcs and I think I like the undead the most.

Caution: this game has been known to be seriously addictive
If there is an art to making seriously addictive computer games ( and I believe there is ), then the people over at Blizzard entertainment are master's of their craft. Fan's of Blizzard's work wonder why it takes them so long to make a game, because they never have their games come out on the promised time. It's because they spend so much time and effort on the games. I usually spend most of my time playing rpg's on the ps2, but sometimes I get bored and play some computer games. I bought Warcraft3 and it's expansion the Frozen Throne a while back and to this day I've never gotten bored with it. You can play the campaigns on insane mode for a real challenge and even after you pass the campaign's you'll never get bored playing other player's online. Out of all the video games I've ever played ( which is a lot ) this game rank's in my personal top 3. And this isn't all!! Play this game and you'll think it will be hard to find another game that's just as addictive, but then after that all you have to do is play all the other games Blizzard has made ( even the older ones like Diablo, Diablo2, or Warcraft2 ) and then you'll respect Blizzard as much as me. And after all that their's World of Warcraft. I'd recommend to any working man not to buy World of Warcraft. It's just to addictive. You'll end up calling in sick to much and then you'll lose your job.
