good and bad.
Many people got ticked off by the new island hopping system. I found this to be anoying as well. You don't really fight many enemies on the ocean, and you have to take the time to change the wind direction before you can get anywhere. This stops when you learn the cyclone teleportation tenchique, but that's not all that sucks about this game! After you play through all the dungeons, you have to sail across the ocean, complete all these stupid puzzles, and get these seven charts. Then you've got to somehow find Tingle Island and get them deciphered. Then you have to salvage for all these stupid Triforce pieces! It takes so long to do that, I still haven't gotten past this long part. The bosses look cool and are pretty fun to fight, plus the dungeons are somewhat enjoyable, but the spaces inbetween the dungeons are just to boring. Buy this game if you love zelda games, but otherwise let it slip.

The best game of all time. And I wouldn't say that about any other game.
When this game first came out, I thought I had lost Nintendo. I found myself doing such things as getting an XBox instead of a Gamecube, making fun of my friend who DID get a Gamecube, and writing an angry letter to GameInformer for giving it a perfect 10.
I thought the cel-shading was ridiculous. It was when I finally ended up getting a Gamecube, and my friend made me borrow it, that I was blown away.
The first thing I came to realize is how deep and emotional connection I really had to the Zelda series. I had constant chills running down my spines as the storybook-like intro unfolded and the original zelda theme chimed in. It was after playing this game that I realized that this is the best series of games to ever be played by mortals, and I really need to stick with it no matter what.
Then came the graphics. It looked like a pre-animated move, but it really was the actual game graphics. Seeing adorable characters such as Aryll gave me an amazing warm sensation, and, along with the music, this immersed me so deeply in the game I would get irritable and grumpy when it was time to put the controller down. These graphics are amazing.
The controls are really good and responsive, and very easy to use. And rotating the camera is something the series really benefits from. the targeting system still works great, and some of the actions are mapped to the r button, which makes some things less akward than in previous zelda games
The gameplay itself never lacked in fun, even long sailing boat trips could be fun with so many things to do out there, such as collecting items, sunken treasures, and fighting off marine enemies. Even spinning the camera around can provide good entertainment, with such great graphics.
There are so many sidequests and collectible items, that this game can last you a very long time. When I beat it, I felt satisfied, victorious, and eager to play it again. Especially eager when I learned of the second quest. While not much different, the second quest let you continue your nintendo gallery exploits by starting you with the pictograph box and lets you keep the original pajama outfit throughout the game. You can also now read the hylian language, and new humorous dialogue is added in.
I have played this game thrice now that I have bought it for myself, and I plan to play it again on my Wii. This game still hasn't lost any of it's charm. The difficulty level obviously decreases as you play it again and again, but the story, the music, the graphics and the characters alone are enough to play it several times over without yearning for something more. That is a quality I look for in my games.

Pros:
+Amazing graphics, beautiful animations.
+Perfect puzzle solving expected of Zelda has come to the next console generation with flying colors, and is just the right level of difficulty.
+Great epic storyline, with imaginative characters and unique plot twists.
+Amazing soundtrack, and nostalgic for Zelda veterans.
+High replay value (for people like me who like to get more for their money)

Cons:
-All other games seem a little dull after playing this.
-It's hard to think of cons for it :).

Interesting:
?It takes place after Twilight Princess, and is (believed to be) one of the later games in the Zelda timeline. Nobody knows for sure though.
?There is no equipment subscreen this time, as with Majora's Mask. I wonder why they never let you switch back to your family's shield...
?Strange how the parts of this game that recieved critcism are the parts that made it so great.

I reccomend you buy this game right now if you don't already have it. It's better than Twilight princess, in my opinion, if you're looking for a solid Gamecube Zelda. It is a masterpiece and you will be fondly remembering it 20 years from now.

A Great Sequel to Ocarina of Time!
I love this game, and is one of my favorite games. It is a great sequel to Ocarina of Time. If you haven't played Ocarina of Time, it starts with "The Legend" which is actually what happens in Ocarina of Time. It goes like this:

This but one of the legends of which the people speak...
Long ago, there existed a kingdom where a golden power lay hidden.
It was a prosperous land blessed with green forests, tall mountains, and peace.
But one day a man of great evil found the power and took it for himself...
With its strength at his command, he spread darkness across the kingdom.
But then, when all hope had died, and the hour of doom seemed at hand...
A young boy clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere.
Wielding the blade of evil's bane, he sealed the dark one away and gave the land light.
This boy, who traveled through time to save the land, was known as the Hero of Time.
The boy's tale was passed down through generations until it became a legend.
But then, a day came when a fell wind began to blow across the kingdom.
The great evil that all thought had been sealed away forever...
...Once again crept up from the depths of the earth, eager to resume its dark designs.
The people believed that the Hero of Time would again come to save them.
...But the hero did not appear.
Faced by an onslaught of evil, the people could do nothing but appeal to the gods.
In their last hour, as doom drew high, they left their future in the hands of Fate.
What became of that kingdom...? None remain who know.
The memory of the kingdom vanished, but its legend survived on the wind's breath.
On a certain island, it became customary to garb boys in green when they came of age.
Clothed in the green of fields, they aspired to find heroic blades and cast down evil.
The elders wished only for the youths to know courage like the hero of legend...

This is a simple version of Ocarina of Time. In Wind Waker, you are a distant relative of Link, and your name is Link (big surprise [not!] if you've ever played a Zelda game before). Hyurule is flooded, and the Great Sea is where this game takes place (which is over Hyrule!) You go to different islands in a boat (called the King of Red Lions) which are really the peaks of the mountains of Hyrule. I shouldn't spoil any more secrets, so I'll just get to the gameplay. It is a lot like Ocarina of Time in the sense that you go through dungeons, do side quests, do other things, and so on and so forth. There's even an instrument like the Ocarina to play songs on. Well, it's not really an instrument; it's a baton called the Wind Waker (hense the game's title). The difference is you don't go through time; you're a kid for the whole game. There are only two things I didn't like about this game are (1) there are barely any shops like there are in Ocarina of Time and (2) the sailing can get very monotonous (because the world is so huge, maybe bigger than the world in Ocarina of Time, but a lot of it is just ocean, so that doesn't count) until you learn the Ballad of Gales, a song on the Wind Waker that allows you to warp to different area on the map, and even then the closest warp to where you want to go can be quite far from it. But even with these two things, this is a great game. Thank you Nintendo!

Amazinly disappointing.
The sailing is boring and terrible, the Wind Waker baton aspect is just not at all interesting and just really annoying. Gameplay wise, not a noticable step above Ocarina of Time, which is just pathetic. Poorly designed, over-hyped, and just mediocre.
