Date: 2007-01-16 DVD Player This works great. Not a game, per say. It's a tool to use with your XBox to watch DVD's.
Date: 2007-01-13 Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit Great add-on to the Xbox. Use it in my truck when I travel as a DVD player and Game Console. Keeps the kid engaged on those long trips cross country. No problems right now!
Date: 2005-11-26 Ridiculous nickel and dime product from MS I find it outrageous that Microsoft does not enable DVD playback with the basic game console. I have a PS2 and it doesn't require special enablement or a separate contol. I can simply put a DVD into the console and then I'm able to contol the playback using my game controller. Sure, if MS wants to charge for the remote, that would be fine for those customer that need/want that wireless convenience. However, I think this product is just another annoying anc costly "gotcha" from MS.

Date: 2005-09-30 Saves you $50 The Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit is very easy to set up and use. All you have to do is plug the little receiver into one of the controller ports, put in a DVD and enjoy. The buttons on the remote are responsive and easy to get used to. However, the Xbox DVD system is very simple. It doesn't have any eject buttons (something mentioned many times by other reviewers) and not as many options as more expensive stand-alone DVD players. You have to keep in mind that it was made for people who already have an Xbox and don't want to shell out an extra $50 for a DVD player that has a lot of special features when all they want is to be able to watch a movie. The DVD itself runs exactly as it would on a good stand-alone DVD player. It's sort of like one of those little $100 digital cameras. There isn't anything really special about them. They just take good pictures that you can put on your computer.
Date: 2005-07-05 Xbox DVD Kit I know that many of you probably had DVD players before you picked up an Xbox. That's simply the case with early adopters. However, that doesn't mean you should automatically skip the Xbox remote. Firstly, you need a remote control kit for playback. You cannot simply stick in a DVD and start monkeying around with a controller. Sorry. There are several remotes to choose from, but the official model is comfortable and well laid out. If you've ever used an RCA remote than you can guess how it feels and how it's organized. I would guess that for many readers their Xbox is a secondary DVD player. Small, easy to use, and relatively affordable, the remote adds much value to your big, black box
