Even better than the Playstation version.
The gameplay is about the same between both versions, but the graphics are a little better on Saturn. The character models are much more sound (parts of their bodies don't blink out of existence as often), though the charaters do look a bit more bulky. Intense game, check it out.

great game
to begin i have played the playstation and saturn version. and this is my opinion. the saturn version has more extras, such as battle mode, 2 tyrants to fight in the same room. The graphics, I will be honest on this now. the playstation character models are slightly better, and i mean slightly. For the saturn slightly blocky, and i mean slightly blocky. you would have to sit their and examin it if u really care. although the saturns backrounds are better. bottom line, saturn offers more!!

This just stinks now
First off, Resident Evil 1 WAS the best, WAS. Until Resident Evil 2, 3, and the remake of RE1 itself came out. So any comment about it always being the best is totally invalid now. Second, the Saturn version is horrible compared to the Playstation version. Sure the Saturn version has an extra mode but that's it. The graphics are terrible compared to the Playstation's, the environments look way too static and the character models are way too blocky. The Playstation improved on what the Saturn could not and that will always be the case. Lastly, there is absolutely no such enemy here as a hunter and a chimera put together. I guess if you come from the Moon Idiot and the Planet Ignoramus, you would think there was and you would also believe that not only is the Saturn version better than the PS, but you would also believe that RE1 is still the best. But for those who live on Planet Earth we all would know that those three things are simply not true and that's a fact. In conclusion, the Saturn verison is a waste of time, get the PS version.

The best Resident Evil game
The first is always the best. The Saturn version is better than the playstation version.because its harder and has a battle mode if you beat the game. And sega even added a new monster(a hunter and a chimera put together).very rare and very recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!

Resident Evil Saturn
I'll spare you the information on the gameplay itself and style, because you can check reviews of the game for other videogame systems. The extras make this title worth every Resident Evil fan's purchase. This game includes everythinh about the original that made it so famous, plus the first "battle game" of the series. You could either play as the male lead, Chris Redfield, or the female lead, Jill Valentine, in an all out monster versus human battle through the levels of the game. This special mode is accessed upon beating the game.

This title also offers a new enemy, and a second tyrant (immediately following the first one)

This game is worth the money, especially if you are a very big fan of the series.
