A solid sequel.
This is a good sequel to the original, but it is little more than a rehash. Graphics are generally the same, although the uniforms seem to look a little more authentic. Gameplay is laregly unchanged, but the whole game seems to run much smoother. It is a little bit slower, but that gives WORLD WIDE SOCCER '97 a more realistic feature, which helps it succeed. If you are looking for a drastic gameplay improvent over WORLD WIDE SOCCER '96, you should look elsewhere, but if you are looking for a slightly better soccer title, you should buy this. Also note: this has a different feeling than its leading competition, FIFA SOCCER '97. If you are a diehard, buy both. If you want the title that is more fun, buy this. If you are looking for the ultimate realism, buy FIFA. However, do not buy OLYMPIC SOCCER or VR SOCCER, as this game easily is better than the two of those titles combined.
