Watching Pikachu following you throughout is priceless in itself. 4.1 stars.
The graphics are piss-poor but the game play and music rarely get better.

Bulbasaur is better than any other starter ever and always will be. Charmander was cute but not as cool. And Squirtle as adorable as he was was way too slow.

The madness never stopped in my house once me and my bro (22 and 16 now) got these into our grubby paws. We did next to no trading, but tons of gaming.

33 Pokemon that are in this title are:

Bulbasaur, Meowth, Persian, Starmie, Dragonair, Koffing, Weezing, Ekans, Arbok, Seel, Dewgong, Zapdos, Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Vulpix, Vileplume, Articuno, Electabuzz, Ponyta, Gloom, Tangela, Lickitung, Mewtwo, Chansey, Taurus, Jynx, Oddish, Golbat, Horsea, Dragonite, Diglett and Magmar.

It's only better because Pikachu follows you everywhere, has a feelings meter and can surf if you know how to access it. Also, an extra point because Team Rocket unsuccessfully crashes your party. Priceless, really. And *JUST* like the anime. =^)

Game play : A-
Sound : B-
Originality : D- (bit off of Blue and Red's style like Woah. The only thing remotely original was the fact that your yellow, adorable Pikachu followed you and he surfed.

And remember the 3 starters from Blue/Red (Bulba, Charm and Squirt? If you play your cards right you can have them all, helping create a wonderous team to be reckoned with! Also Team Rocket tried and failed each time to ambush your journey throughout Kanto!

Great Starter Game
My daughter has loved pokemon since she was about 2 years old (she's 9 now) and this was one of her first pokemon games. You have pickachu followyou around, get used to you, you can battle, trade, catch new pokemon, and explore. I recommend this game a lot for someones first pokemon game.

Veteren Poke-fan
Despite the many years I've played Pokemon, through all the versions I've bought, I am now 19 and Yellow is still by far the best one I've played simply for its simplicity. It gave more of a challenge than the newer Pokemon games. And I definately reccomend it to all new and old fans who haven't played it yet.

This game is unique
This is the first Pokemon game I have ever played, and I still think it's fun. It's also very unique. It's unique in that you start out with Pikachu and get all three starters. In the beginning Gary steals Eevee, but that doesn't really matter since you get Eevee later on in Celadon anyway.

Pikachu fans will love this game, since Pikachu talks to you. This is the first game ever to have the concept of Pokemon tameness. For Pikachu haters, they will still like this game because you get the other three starters and the graphics are a smidge better than Red and Blue (the Pokemon and trainer sprites were changed a little, and there's more color), and it's not like you HAVE to train Pikachu. There's also a surfing mini-game, but I personally have never played it.

The game isn't hard, either. It's actually pretty easy; even Brock is easy to beat. Just train up a Butterfree so you can use Confusion. There's also the Nidorans with Double Kick (level 12) and Mankey with Low Kick (level 9). Anyway, it's lots of fun.

YAYYYYYY
ok this is one great pokemon game pokemon is the only thing that me and my friends have ever gotten into not this yugioh or digimon pokemon is the best because it has the easiest concept to level up beat the game and catch'em all nbow the pikachu feature i like becasue pikachu is soooooooooo cute but i wish you could play as a because you couldnt do that until crystal and about the mini game its great but very hard to get to play but when you can its totally worth it plus all the pokemon look like they shoud in the show so thats a plus no more missingno. but that was stupid because i never used it anyway and its a cheap way to beat the game but i did use missingno. and pokemon stadium to transfer rare candies from red and blue to yellow so i could win at prime cup and actually get the mini game so yeah its a good game
