Date: 2005-06-01 This game is not a classic..... The status of this game is way over blown. I think i got this game maybe 7 years ago at a yard sale for 25 cents. And what a waste is was. I could have got a spent that quarter on a 25 cent burger on Mcdonalds has the 25 cent burger day. But no i bought Sonic the Boring Hedgehog. The levels are dull, The boss's repeat them selfs, Crummy music, And you die alot for no reason.........

Date: 2004-12-19 Outdated badly! Horrible 2d crud graphics,Annoying simple gameplay, slow gameplay, boring repetitive bosses, and last but not least annoying tunes that make you want to barf.
Date: 2004-09-12 a true classic this game should go down in history!its fun cool, and most likely the best original game ever!the character is new, fast, cool, and full of surprises.hes sonic!i especially love the music in labyrinth zone and the final zone with the ball. its the same music in the options menu in sonic advance(and the first boss in x zone)! kool isnt it?laaaaalalalalaaaaalaaaalalalala o its my favorite!if u want it its no more here so buy it off ebay! and o yah...super sonic isnt here >_<
Date: 2004-08-09 Amazing after all these years I first played this great game over 10 years ago at a friends house, and fell in love-I actually like this better than the Mario series. I recently found a Genesis system by sheer dumb luck, and along with it Sonic 1 and 2. I popped it in and was re-united with a long, lost friend. And the music! That is one of the reasons I got the game! The graphics are "outdated"-so what? The gameplay on this blows away many of today's games. We are all bombarded with life-like games today, but this classic and others like it are what set the stage for the current wave. Right now, a lot of people are out getting the newest games, I am going against the grain and playing the classics. While I intend to get a "next gen" system soon, I refuse to put these old games out to pasture. Sonic will live forever!
