NINJAS RULE! 9.75 OUT OF 10
This game was one of the best games ever made for the Genesis, not to mention one of the greatest games ever created. This game has really cool level designs and the missions are awesome to play through. Joe Musashi has a number of attacks and platforming moves up his sleeves which makes the action all the more sweeter. You never know what he might be doing next on another level like the level in which he battles ninjas via surfboard. If you liked Ninja Gaiden you'll probably love this amazing retro ninja classic. The graphics are nice and crisp, the enemies are pretty cool, the gameplay is still awesome, the character designs and level designs are awesome, and it is an experience unlike anything else you've played. The only problem is the game at times feels too easy, but that's never a problem during this wild adventure.

The best Shinobi game
After 'Revenge' the Shinobi games went downhill quite bit with the rather tepid Shadow Dancer. I know I'm not the only person in the world who was disappointed with the Genesis port because the arcade version (and even the Commodore 64 version) was so much better (and almost completely different).

Shinobi III goes back to the gameplay of 'Revenge' and gives us more of the same only with improved graphics (great stuff for a simple 16-bit Genesis) and different locations. A rather cool horseback and surfboard level is included too. We also get a new climbing ability, which is quite cool. And the bad guys still explode when you kill them, for some reason.

It starts out quite easy but gets rather hard towards the end. You'll be screaming with anger in the rockfall and aircraft levels. However, the bad guys still do nothing but wait for you to kill them and the worst thing for you is simply falling down bottomless pits.

Anyone who enjoyed 'Revenge' will no doubt get a kick out of Shinobi III.

The BEST genesis game ever!!!
Shinobi III is easily the best game Sega ever released. The
shinobi series started with
1. Revenge of Shinobi
2. Shinobi the Shadow Dancer
and finally
3. Shinobi III: the return of the ninja master.

I spent an enormous amount of time playing this super
challenging game. 2D games are were its at!

Best Shinobi game on the Genesis
Great graphics, music, sound, and action. Shinobi 3 is probably the best 16-bit Shinobi game available. If you like ninja games you can't go wrong.

The star of Genesis action games
The Shinobi series is a star in the Sega Genesis lineup of games. The games can be thought of as either action games or shooters - in either case they are fun, original (somewhat), and challenging. In Shinobi you take the part of a vengeful ninja (what did you expect! ) who attempts to recover his loved one. Despite the banal plot, the game offers its key points in gameplay and visuals - crisp backgrounds, tight controls, and numerous enemies. Unlike many other games, this one suffers no slowdown, and you will never fall into bottomless pits due to sticking or any other such things.

Shinobi III is a classic. If you enjoy the genre and own a Genesis, try it out.
