Rayman 2 - The Great Escape Review
User Submitted Rayman 2 - The Great Escape Reviews
Date: 2004-11-02 Definitely a good buy I bought myself a used Dreamcast last year, and so far Rayman 2 has been one of the best games I have for it.
For fans of the Playstation version, it is a slight disappointment that there aren't actual voices for the cutscenes, which was something that added to the game.
There are some better things about it, though. For one, the frames per second is 60, as oppose to the PS1 version's 30. The graphics are very sharp, and the animation is very well done.
The levels are slightly different than its Playstation counterpart, and involves more maneuvers and features. Also, there is an exclusive multiplayer level found only on the Dreamcast version.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who still has a working Dreamcast. Oh, and it only takes up two blocks of memory space on the VMU, so memory is not an issue. Unless you only have one block.
Date: 2002-09-04 One of the best Dreamcast games you can buy! Rayman 2 is a GREAT game! It's graphics are good, and it's gameplay is simply perfect! EVERY Dreamcast owner should get this game! It's challenging, intriguing, and fun. You're supposed to think your way through massive levels (54 to be exact) to get the 4 Masks of Polokus. It's really cool! Get RAYMAN 2: THE GREAT ESCAPE!
Date: 2002-07-12 Much Better then the PlayStation version (except...) I first played Rayman 2 on the PlayStation. I loved the game, the voice acting most of all. When I bought my Dreamcast, I bought Rayman 2 for it. I love the Dreamcast version even better. The graphics are absolutly fantastic, as is the music. The only problem I have with it is that the Dreamcast version doesn't have the voice acting. Instead it has everybody talking some gibberish language. This was a big let down, and it's the only thing that's preventing me from giving it 5 stars. However, it's not enough to make me suggest not buying it. You'll have a pretty tough time getting everything in the game, so it will make you come back for more. If you're a fan of adventure games, you really should take a look at Rayman 2 (Dreamcast or PlayStation). I can't wait untill Ubi Soft puts Rayman 3 out on GameCube!
Date: 2002-06-28 Great Game This game is great. There are lots of varied levels to play that are just the right difficulty...not too easy, not too hard. The sound, graphics and gameplay is outstanding....so far I have not had any problems such as glitches in the game(i'm a little more than half way thru it). I very strongly recommend this product to anyone you wants a good platform game.
Date: 2002-03-28 Good!! Tons of levels to beat. The only down side of it is it's to hard.
