Date: 2001-05-23 Great little game saver (and more) that is ahead of its time For me, the VMU just saves games and displays useful information to me in the controller window for certain games. And those tasks it does a fine job at. You just have to have one of these for each controller that gets used on a regular basis. The display is what cinches it because, frankly, they don't have enough memory on their own. NFL2K1 alone will chew up one of these guys if you play a season.I use 2 controllers often, so I bought 2. For regular saves, I bought one of the 4 page jobbies that quadruple the storage of these in the same amount of space. I just slap that one in the first controller's second port. There's no display on the larger memoried one. But that does mean I forsake the use of the vibrating gizmos. But since I've never tried one on the DC, I don't feel like I'm missing anything. The price is steep, but I prefer getting it from Sega than someone else. Had they produced one of the modules that stores more like the others, I'd have gotten that from Sega as well.
Date: 2001-04-20 Old Reliable I have to say, this card is VERY reliable. I can always got back and have the exact same results, but the only problem is that it has only 200 blocks. With that, you'll find yourself buying more games and more VMUs. I sure wish it had a lot more capacity. Oh well, maybe Sega will develop a more advance VMU(yeah right...)
Date: 2001-03-02 good memory card this is an excellent little memory card.but i think the price should of been dropped by now
Date: 2001-02-23 THIS IS GREAT! I have a ps and a n64 thats all but my dc is great and i think you have to have this VMU because if you dont a lot of game you cant play i would say BUY THIS ITS GREAT!
Date: 2001-02-02 Great New Concept The idea of having a memory card that can also douple up as a mini game itself is very clever. The Vmu will save you data and also gives you the facility to exchange data with a friend by conecting the two VMU's together. The VMU is also a clock, the VMU also turns into a miny game. The mini game works depending on what information is saved. For instance if you had power stone and complete the game with different characters you are awarded a prize, one of the prizes is a mini fruit machine to play on the VMU. If you had sonic you can gain a little cyber pet type creature which you raise on the VMU to help your progress on the actual game. So overall SEGA have come up with one fancy gadget
