One of my favorite game systems
I just bought the Dreamcast a couple years ago, and still one of favorite game systems.I have a snes,Genesis,N64,Playstation 1 & 2 and a xbox 360, most of these systems are great, but the Dreamcast has the best 2d fighters and arcade that I remember playing back in the day when they were popular.I have a lot of the games I use to back in the day like House of the Dead,Soul Caliber,Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Capcom vs. Snk are just a few that I own right now. This system is still really good because the Dreamcast has hardware similar to the NAOMI arcade machines so most of the games are almost identical and some are better than arcade like Soul Caliber.

Sega done well with the Dreamcast because they did the opposite of Sega Saturn when it comes to games. The games are diverse and range to platform games to 2d/3d fighters and action adventures and most of them are still are not bad and look similar to a PS2 game.I think Sega was targeting people with this system that wanted arcade style games while Sony did the same, but with a dvd player. In 2002 Sega stop making systems after the PS2 out sold the Dreamcast at sales, but now it is just a software company instead which I am glad they are still around.I recently bought a Hori PS2 joystick and used a PS adapter and it's way more fun than using the DC controller.I would highly advise everyone that doesn't already have the DC arcade stick to get an Hori arcade joystick or X-Arcade stick and a PS adapter to get to the whole arcade feel. The DC system has mostly arcade fighting games,so people that don't like this system probably don't like fighting games.

Pros: ahead of its time, vmu is amazing, controller is comfortable, games are cheap, games still look good, great fighting games

Cons: some games look bad, stop making games

The legendary dreamcast... well... it was sorta forgotten
I had heard many things about the Dreamcast, but what attracted me to it was the fact it could run homebrew games without a modchip. Interesting. I figured what the hey and went to a used game store and picked one up for cheap, about 1/5 the price of the ps2. I booted it up and shortly after I realized this wasn't an ordinary system. Unlike ordinary modern game systems which are based purely off alien technology, this caught me off guard with a processor running off of unicorns and a graphics card running off of concentrated magic. I was astonished. The graphics are extremely close to Ps2 quality, better even on well programmed games when compared to poor Ps2 games. With unique titles like Jet Grind Radio and Sonic Adventure, this little beast conquers. I really think it should have been higher up in the video game race, but unfortunately Sega went down the pooper. I modded mine with a cool black and red paint job, led lights, and an extra fan to help cooling. This is my favorite system over any other. The only reason I still use my ps2 is guitar hero. Anywho, this competes with other more popular game systems at a fraction of the price and delivers great performance with great games.

All about the graphics
It does not have the same specel effects as the newer systems, but it gives the clearest graphics I have ever seen on any consol. UNDERSTAND ME HERE. Polygons, particles, and efects have ok atempts, but surfaces are not blurred but clear. On a normal TV I get better clarity in graphics than even an X-box 360 on an HD TV. Because of this I especialy notice the polygons, particles, and efects are not up to par. I still would not put it past a PC with a good graphics card on clarity. I still see why the PS 2 and X-box still have the upper hand.

Excellent, Excellent System....
While no longer the latest and greatest console on the block, no one can deny the greatness of this machine. As the 1st Next Gen system around, it delivered near PS2 graphics well ahead of its competitors. Most games can be found for $10-$15 and are so much fun! Look for one in good condition, you won't be dissapointed.

Dreamcast Sucks
I sold the most chocalate for a school fundraiser and here was my reward,A cheap video game system with graphics worser then a Gamecube. I have a Wii and I'm satisfied with it,so don't waste your cash and buy a Wii!
