Super Smash Bros Review (continued)
More User Submitted Super Smash Bros Reviews
Date: 2007-11-23 AN AMAZING FIGHTER 9.25 OUT OF 10 When it comes to fighting games I spend most of my time playing with the Street Fighter or Dead or Alive crew, but at times I do get fighting time with the Smash Bros. crew. The fighting mechanics are still awesome and function well, the environments are still cool, the destruciton of your enemies or a friend is still loads of fun. Although this game has likely been forgotten since the launch of its Gamecube sequel, it's still a classic that should not be forgotten by any fighting fan. There's still fun stuff to unlock, like new characters. The only complaint I have against this game is the fact that it feels too easy at times. Still it never gets old to kick the crap out of Jigglypuff and send her flying or Pikachu.
Date: 2007-08-14 Let rumble!! This game was excellent, it brang all the Nintendo characters together for a battle royale. Not much more than fighting though.
Date: 2007-07-01 This Game Pwns and You Know It, Or At Least Your Kid Does Dear ignorant parents, please talk to your kid before using your "Well in my day..." instinct to judge a game. I read the "1 star" reviews and most of them were either from illiterate 1st graders (Yeah, that's right, I'm talking to you too, Mr. I can't spell the word "Nintendo") or some parent who doesn't know the difference between a Nintendo 64 cartridge and a VHS tape. For example, I saw a parent say "I thought it was gonna be about bumper cars." What the heck? Did you have your face stuck in a rock while you looked at the game box? Anyways, that's all for now on that subject matter.
Moving on to the review...
This game is awesome. There's so many ways you can play it'll take until you're in college to get bored of this game. When I was a kid I used to rent this game and play it with my friends and I gotta tell ya, the multiplayer ROCKS! And the cool part is, the single player is also fun. By the time we had to turn in the game back to Blockbuster, we were so sad that we had to let it go.
So let's review: Parents, study up on your kid's games. And for all the gamers out there, BUY THIS GAME!! You'll thank me for it later, I promise you.
Date: 2007-06-26 One of the greatest games. This rates among my favorite games of all time to play in a group, even considering its younger sibling, Melee. I played this basically all through college, and it's as fun now as it was then. My husband even enjoys playing it by himself against the computer, but that's a little sad. Anyway, it's a great game, and over five years after I started playing it, it's still just as fun.
Date: 2007-05-22 "Free For All!" Super Smash Bros. has single-handedly THE best premise in history of gaming. I would have loved to have been in the conference room meeting when someone suggested this game. "Let's take all of our most famous Nintendo characters, and have them beat the CRAP out of each other!"
I just recently purchased a used Nintendo 64, having found great deal at my local game store. And this game was at the top of my list of ones to buy. I remember playing this game at my friend's house many years ago. We would spend hours just smashing each other with mallets, lightsabers, combos, energy beams, baseball bats, etc. It's almost disturbingly addictive.
I had never played the 1-player on Super Smash Bros. before, but having just recently tried it out, it's really not that bad. And my friend informed that it's the only way to unlock certain characters such as Captain Falcon, Luigi, Jiggly Puff, and NES.
Still, nothing is better than the multiplayer with a group of guys over after having just whipped out the Super Smash Bros., and hearing that announcer's voice yell "Free for All!" Everyone has their favorite charcters. I'm personally best with Mario and Samus, whereas my friend rocks the house with Link. I have yet another friend who claims that Kirby is the best of the nest.
All in all- I would truly recommend this game to anyone who's looking to have a good time, and who usually plays their N64 with several people.
